Join our team in Brussels as Director/ Managing Director Global Public Affairs Healthcare (all genders)
What tasks can you look forward to?
Client Leadership
- Client account management: Lead senior client relationships across European markets -- including the U.K. and Switzerland -- and drive cross-sell opportunities across practice areas and geographies. Global mandates will be part of the mix.
- Policy depth: Serve as the senior go-to expert on healthcare policy across EU institutions and key European markets. Stay ahead of regulatory and policy shifts to inform client advice and engagement strategies.
- Policy foresight: Develop and continually refresh relevant, practical, and forward-looking insights -- written and oral -- for existing clients and in support of new business opportunities.
Team & Practice Development
- Team management: Guide and develop the Brussels healthcare team -- serving as a senior mentor and day-to-day lead, while remaining hands-on to ensure excellent delivery.
- Sector group contribution: Contribute actively to FGS's European Healthcare Sector Group -- including credentials, thought leadership, event strategy, and internal knowledge-sharing across offices.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Relationship building: Identify, map, and build effective relationships with senior policy, political, and regulatory stakeholders across EU institutions, member states, and relevant international bodies.
New Business
- Pipeline development: Work hand-in-hand with the firm's Partners to build and grow a pipeline of new clients and projects. Drive pitch preparation and delivery, and bring an entrepreneurial mindset to identifying opportunities across sectors and markets.
What should you bring along?
The ideal candidate is a healthcare policy expert who understands commercial models well enough to translate how policy and regulatory change affects investors and businesses active in Pharma, Medical Devices, Biotech, and Digital Health. You are comfortable working across European markets -- including the U.K. and Switzerland -- and ideally have exposure to global campaigns or the Washington policy environment.
- Bachelor's degree plus an MPA, MBA, or similar policy or business-related Master's degree.
- 7-10 years' experience (Director) or 10+ years' experience (Managing Director) in government, parliament, international organizations, a regulator, trade association, political party, policy-focused public affairs agency, management consultancy, or strategic advisory firm. Candidates with direct policy experience inside a Pharma, MedTech, BioTech, or Digital Health company are equally welcome.
- Deep knowledge of EU policy-making processes and significant experience advising clients on European healthcare policy, politics, and regulation.
- Comfort working across multiple European markets simultaneously, with an understanding of how national dynamics interact with EU-level developments.
- Ability to engage directly with senior policymakers, regulators, and their networks -- often independently and with limited senior support.
- Demonstrated ability to provide crisp, clear, logical analysis in both written and oral form, adaptable to different audiences.
- Confidence presenting to, engaging with, and advising senior clients and contacts.
- Experience managing and developing junior colleagues, with a genuine commitment to their growth.
- Entrepreneurial approach to building teams and new business pipelines.
- Excellent project and team management skills.
- Exposure to Washington, D.C. policy dynamics or experience running global campaigns is a plus but not a requirement.
What we can offer you
- A senior role within one of the world's leading strategic advisory firms, working on high-profile mandates across EU institutions, national markets, and global clients.
- The opportunity to contribute to and shape FGS's European Healthcare practice.
- Exciting mandates and real development prospects across sectors, geographies, and practice areas.
- An inspiring working environment, with the opportunity to work at one of our international offices for a limited period of time.
- Induction and individual support from experienced Partners.
- Continuous development through close collaboration with integrated project teams and the FGS Global Academy.
- A dedicated and supportive team.
- A corporate culture that combines excellence with team spirit, and a flexible working model across our offices and from home.
