Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent  Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

In this role you will provide vision, strategic direction and leadership in evolutionary implementation and support of a diverse portfolio of highly complex and SOX/SOC1 compliant regulatory  ystems. Supports various Enterprise Finance, Group Risk Management and Canadian Banking units across the enterprise including business platforms, functional units and legal entities.

You will work directly with various Enterprise Finance, GRM and Canadian Banking leaders to enhance efficiency and effectiveness by further leveraging common / enterprise-wide technology solutions across a number applications & portfolios (T&O Finance, LLPS, CQRS, Fibrs, RPA & Productivity Tools ). You will also manage a team of 3 – 5 highly skilled senior Application Managers leading the delivery teams.

What will you do?:

• Lead, coach and develop 7 to 10 highly skilled and diverse IT professionals and lead offshore teams
• Manage all development delivery against mission critical SOC1/SOX applications and productivity tools.
• Directs the work – scope, schedule etc - of the development teams. (Fibrs, T&O Finance, CQRS, LLPS, RPA and Productivity Tools))
• Manage all development delivery against mission critical SOC1/SOX applications and productivity tools.
• Good understanding of SDLC concepts and extensive experience in leading large teams.
• Leverage AI to build scalable processes and integrate machine learning models across platforms while reducing time to market.
• Shape the future technology direction of Finance & Audit IT (front, middle and back office). Responsible and accountable for the stability, performance, production, compliance, roadmap strategy and development initiatives for applications in the portfolio
• Contributes to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
• Responsible for architectural decisions for all relevant applications in line with the agreed strategy and roadmap.
• Responsible and accountable for the stability, performance, production, compliance, roadmap strategy and development initiatives for applications in the portfolio
• Contributes to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
• Researches emerging trends/best practices and determines implications of proposed solutions on meeting business unit strategy.

What you need to succeed? Must have’s :

• 7 to 12 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing, motivating and providing mentorship to resources on high performing IT Development Teams.
• Strong understanding of, Big Data, Full Stack Programming products (Python, Angular, C++, Java, .NET), Databases (DB2 & SQL)
• DEVOPS knowledge (Github, Jenkins, Helios, Nexus, UCD etc)
• Directs the work – scope, schedule etc - of the development teams. (T&O Finance, LLPS, CQRS, Fibrs, RPA & Productivity Tools and other applications
• Responsible for architectural decisions for all relevant applications in line with the agreed strategy and roadmap.
• Strong Communication and presentation skills and comfortable presenting to Executive level audiences
• Infrastructure knowledge, Client/Server, SaaS, Mainframe etc

Nice to have’s:

• Solid and demonstrated background in management and managing IT development
• Understanding and technical knowledge in cross platform and cross database space
• Experience with multi-tier system development for large enterprises
• Facilitate joint planning with business partners in the early stages of project formation
