What you'll be doing
As the Director, IT Asset Management (ITAM) Governance, Oversight & Service Management Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of ITAM professionals to define and maintain the ITAM governance framework and continuously seek ITAM industry advancements and best practices to embed throughout daily operations. Working with your team you will refine and implement the next generation global ITAM strategy to meet the current and future needs of the Bank’s risk posture, Banking Industry ITAM regulations, Cyber Security reporting standards and internal control standards. You will set, direct the service definition of governance for all asset lifecycles . You will oversee the development and maintenance of ITAM processes and controls to govern the ITAM lifecycle, including requirements, exclusions, deviations, exceptions, risk acceptance and remediation prioritization. You will define and review updates to the ITAM Standard, metrics, controls and communicated changes to relevant stakeholders. You will review analysis & creation of critical risk insights for leadership consideration, including issue remediation compliance processes with asset & lifecycle owners. You will collaborate with the three lines of defense to ensure compliance and accountability for identified issues and remediation plans. Your orchestration of the Enterprise ITAM governance committee and global regional reporting will ensure oversight to compliance is fulfilled..

How you’ll succeed
Analytical Thinking & Data Insights – You will have strong knowledge of ITAM lifecycle and governance framework, and key ITAM support platforms such as ServiceNow HAM/SAM Pro, SCCM, and other tools.
Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration - Engage regularly with asset owners in technology, product owners, procurement, architecture, finance, cyber and three lines of defence teams. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Represent ITAM confidently during reviews and discussions.
Risk Governance & Reporting – Recommend and identify risks and deficiencies, required deviations and sign-offs for these. Draft management metric and KRI insights for final approval, while setting the ITAM Standard and procedures. Maintain strong knowledge of ITAM practice models and provide guidance to technology and business partners.
Process Optimization, Reporting & Automation - Contribute to improving ITAM processes, enhancing data quality, implementing automation, and maturing AI-driven insights. Identify optimization opportunities and support risk mitigation initiatives through accurate compliance tracking and consumption analysis.
Change, Collaboration & Values - Support the continuous improvement of ITAM governance, AI adoption, operational procedures, and audit workflows. Work with integrity and uphold CIBC’s values, trust, teamwork, and accountability, while contributing to an inclusive, collaborative environment focused on risk reduction and operational excellence.
Leadership – You will work with the broader team to set goals and motivate the team to achieve them. You can identify and remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of team activities and key initiative deliverables. Maintain a strong communication network with the team, providing coaching and regular updates and direction on key objectives, priorities, business initiatives and performance standards.
Who you are
You can demonstrate 8+ years of experience in IT Asset Management practice management, including compliance, governance and oversight services. You bring experience in strategic service management, expertise in governance frameworks, risk appetite and tolerance setting. You understand the interconnection of IT Management with cyber security. You have strong self-planning skills sufficient to plan your own and team assignments according to general work plans; ability to multi-task, plan and meet timelines. You have strong written and oral communication for senior stakeholder management including internal and external audit and regulatory compliance response. You maximize efficiencies, processes, and systems to meet CIBC business goals.
