The Director of Integrated Capex Planning plays a critical role in overseeing and enhancing integrated project planning processes to provide high-level visibility and reporting for the executive team. As a strategic thinker, the role owner must synthesize complex engineering and project delivery data into actionable insights, ensuring that all execution initiatives remain strictly aligned with broader organizational goals.

Specifically, the position is responsible for the end-to-end planning, oversight, and reporting of strategic growth projects within the Advanced Synthesis Platform. Working in close collaboration with the End-to-End Program Lead, this role ensures the successful parallel execution of multiple large-scale projects while driving continuous improvement and the harmonization of operational processes to facilitate smooth execution throughout the Vacaville site.

What you will do

  • Lead the multi-year Capital Expenditure (Capex) planning process, ensuring infrastructure and equipment investments align with long-term corporate strategy and site production goals.

  • Oversee the total Capex budget, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and tracking variances to ensure large-scale projects remain financially viable and transparent.

  • Act as the primary liaison between Finance, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, and Site Operations to prioritize projects based on urgency, ROI, and risk.

  • Monitor the health of the capital portfolio from initial business case and conceptual design through to execution, commissioning, and final asset capitalization.

  • Ensure site resources, labor, and space are properly allocated to support capital projects without disrupting ongoing manufacturing or GMP schedules.

  • Identify and manage systemic risks within the capital plan, including supply chain lead times for specialized equipment and regulatory compliance hurdles.

  • Provide data-driven insights and scenario modeling to senior leadership to facilitate high-stakes decisions on facility expansions and technology upgrades.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical Engineering and Operations.

  • Proven track record in Program and Project Management, specifically leading a portfolio of large-scale pharmaceutical facility expansions and strategic growth initiatives.

  • Expert knowledge in engineering reporting and data analysis with a focus on synthesizing metrics for executive-level reviews.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end planning and oversight for multiple large-scale projects executed in parallel.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills used to drive continuous improvement and harmonize operational processes.
