What You'll Be Doing 

 

ION Application Operations provides the day-to-day operational foundation for critical platforms used across CIBC, with a focus on stability, security, and continuous improvement. As the Director, Infrastructure Management - Secure File Transfer Shared Services, you’ll own CIBC’s secure file transfer platforms and services, ensuring they’re resilient, well-governed, and positioned to meet evolving business needs. You’ll lead teams responsible for platform operations and delivery, and you’ll oversee a portfolio of initiatives ranging from modernization to service enhancements. You’ll partner with technology and business stakeholders to set strategy, manage risk, and drive strong operational discipline. As an operations leader, you’ll also provide leadership support for major incidents outside regular hours (as required) when needed to protect availability and client experience.

How You'll Succeed 

 

  • Platform ownership & modernization strategy - Establish platform direction, roadmap, and modernization strategy for Secure File Transfer, aligning to enterprise security, resiliency, and scalability expectations.

  • Operational excellence - Oversee service operations, ensuring consistent execution of incident, problem, and change processes, including root-cause analysis and sustained corrective actions.

  • Delivery leadership - Lead project delivery for secure file transfer enhancements and modernization, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.

  • People leadership - Build, coach, and develop high-performing teams, creating clear priorities, ways of working, and accountability across shared services.

  • Budget, vendor & resource management - Own budget planning and forecasting, manage vendor relationships and contract performance, and plan capacity to meet service levels and delivery commitments.

  • Risk, controls & governance - Ensure strong governance across operational controls, security requirements, audit readiness, and documented standards for secure file transfer services.

Who You Are 

 

  • You bring secure file transfer domain expertise. You have hands-on experience of secure file transfer tools and patterns, and you understand how to operate them reliably in a regulated enterprise environment. You bring 10+ years of progressive experience in application operations, platform ownership, or production services, with experience leading teams and complex stakeholders. You have experience with tools such as AutoSys and FeedHub; experience with Axway (or similar secure file transfer platforms) is an asset.
