Position Description
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the rapid growth of the Canadian Operation. This role will provide vision and leadership to the organization and ensure the business is properly supported for future growth. This individual will possess excellent communication skills and be the main point of contact between the Canadian organization and the worldwide IT group.
What You Will Do
- Lead IT strategic, operational planning and budgeting activities to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives and projects by coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT business applications across the organization
- Be aware of the latest market innovations and identify ways in which they can be applied to make the business more efficient and successful
- Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investment decisions
- Develop and maintain an appropriate organizational structure that supports the needs of the business
- Advise, counsel, and educate Senior Leadership Group on opportunities to leverage technology to effectively meet business goals
- Monitor compliance with policies and standards, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
- Review software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale, and achieve better vendor performance
- Work with Finance, HR, and Business Intelligence, and other stakeholders so that business systems can successfully deliver efficient solutions
- Manage the Canada IT Team, which includes hiring, providing ongoing motivation, coaching, guidance, feedback and mentoring support, performance management, assigning work and training
- Ensure the continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with vendors and end users and monitoring of IT systems performance
- Develop, maintain, communicate, and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside the organization to achieve goals and positive results.
- Track and provide project status and audit reports
- Oversee staff for the delivery of projects on time, within scope and on budget; with the information they need to assess the highest potential value, impact, and strategic alignment
What You Will Bring
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
- Expert ability in application implementation of enterprise-grade corporate systems and interfaces
- Proven leader - ability build a compelling vision and long-term strategy for business applications
- Ability to build a strong network and relationships with Senior Leadership, worldwide colleagues, vendors, partners, and staff
- Strong financial management with a focus on internal controls, and change management experience
- 10+ years of leadership experience managing and/or directing IT applications department
- 8+ years business experience and responsibility for the vision, leadership, operation, delivery, and support of enterprise corporate systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline, or equivalent education and/or experience
