Job Summary

Barings’ Enterprise Data group is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable professional to join the Information Architecture team. This team is responsible for ensuring that enterprise data is accurate, trusted, accessible, and fit for use across investment teams, operations, client reporting, and regulatory processes.

The Information Architect will partner closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand data needs, translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, and ensure appropriate data architecture and governance. The role also plays a critical part in triaging complex data issues, performing root‑cause analysis, and recommending sustainable architectural or workflow solutions. Strong experience within the Asset Management industry is essential.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across the firm to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical and data architecture requirements
  • Define and maintain appropriate data flow architectures and enterprise data storage standards
  • Oversee and promote effective use of enterprise data assets across platforms and use cases
  • Serve as a data subject matter expert, developing deep understanding of data structures, lineage, and business meaning
  • Define and document enterprise-level data derivation and transformation logic
  • Establish and enforce data security standards, assign security roles, and ensure compliance with enterprise policies
  • Assess the benefits, risks, and feasibility of data usage in key initiatives to guide project teams toward sound architectural decisions
  • Triage, prioritize, and resolve complex data issues reported by end users through detailed analysis, including SQL-based investigation
  • Identify recurring issues, patterns, and trends to drive long-term improvements and prevent reoccurrence
  • Influence enterprise information strategy by partnering with business leadership
  • Coordinate with external vendor partners (including Aladdin, eFront, DealCloud, and Refinitiv) to support development teams, investigate data issues, and ensure end‑to‑end process integrity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the Asset Management industry
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to analyze data, recreate issues, and support defect resolution
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: Aladdin Data Cloud, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, or Databricks
  • Experience with Aladdin is strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to assess evolving technologies and apply them pragmatically to business needs
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities
