The Director of Human Resources serves as a senior HR leader and strategic partner. This role blends strategy and execution—translating enterprise goals into practical HR initiatives that enhance culture, compliance, engagement, and performance across a workforce of 8,000+ employees.
The Director of Human Resources plays a critical role in planning, designing, and executing innovative HR programs, initiatives, and policies that align with the company’s strategies and goals to support the continued success of the business and positively engage the workforce.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A proven HR leader with 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant leadership of managers and teams.
- Experienced in partnering with executive leadership and serving as a trusted advisor on sensitive and high-impact matters.
- Deeply knowledgeable in federal and state employment law (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, EEO).
- Skilled in translating strategy into execution within complex, fast-paced environments.
- Data-driven, with strong analytical capabilities and experience using KPIs to measure performance.
- Experienced in HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
- Healthcare industry experience a plus.
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Strategic Leadership & Partnership
- Serve as strategic advisor and thought partner to the VP of Human Resources and senior leadership team.
- In partnership with the VP of Human Resources, help to lead the HR organization and drive execution of HR strategy aligned to business growth and operational priorities.
- Translate business strategy into actionable HR initiatives and talent strategies.
- Help shape and steward a high-performance, values-driven culture.
Team Leadership & Organizational Capability
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of nine HR professionals, including managers; elevate leadership capability and accountability across the function.
- Build bench strength within HR through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
- Establish clear KPIs and performance standards for the HR function and drive measurable results.
Trusted Advisor & Employee Relations Leadership
- Provide expert guidance on complex and sensitive employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and organizational challenges.
- Advise leadership on risk mitigation, compliance, and sound decision-making in high-impact situations.
- Ensure consistent, fair, and values-aligned resolution of workplace issues.
HR Operations & Compliance Excellence
- Provide executive oversight and strategic leadership of Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, and Leave of Absence (LOA) programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, cost management, and a consistent employee experience.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee and continuously improve policies, processes, and systems to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.
- Partner with HRIS to optimize Workday and leverage data analytics to inform decision-making.
Benefits & Workforce Strategy
- Provide leadership input on benefits strategy, administration, and coordination.
- Monitor HR metrics and trends to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and organizational effectiveness.
- Champion best practices in employee engagement, benefits administration, and workforce optimization.
Culture & Values Stewardship
- Embody and actively protect the organization’s Core Values in all leadership actions and decisions.
- Promote accountability, ownership, collaboration, and growth across the HR team and broader organization.
- Ensure policies and leadership behaviors consistently reinforce company values.
All other duties as assigned.
The typical base pay range for this role is USD $110,300 - $174,500 per year.
Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, skills and other market-based factors.
