Director, HRBP, North America Operations 

Role Overview: 

We are seeking a motivated, driven high potential Human Resources Director to serve as HRBP for Otis’s North America Operations (Florence, SC), which manufactures and distributes elevators for the New Equipment business within the Otis Elevator Company and the Otis Service Center (Bloomfield CT), which houses our parts warehousing servicing maintenance, repair and replacement parts across Otis and non-Otis equipment, repair shop light manufacturing and assembly operations and engineering and technical support for current and legacy elevator systems. The North America Operations is primarily located in Florence, SC.  The site is nonunion and home to more than 600 employees. This role will provide support across multiple functions including manufacturing, operations support disciplines, engineering, supply chain, testing and technical data services. This is a well-rounded generalist assignment with the opportunity to leave your mark!  

As the HR site leader, you will partner with the manufacturing/operations/technical business leaders to achieve business success through aligning HR and organizational objectives. You will also partner with organizations across the company to support and execute business objectives and facilitate a culture that supports our Otis Absolutes (Safety, Ethics & Quality).  This position will have 1 direct report and report directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources for the Americas Product, Delivery & Customer Organization. 

On a typical day you will: 

  • Partner with corporate and site management to develop, implement and execute HR operational initiatives and objectives that support achievement of overall business strategy
  • Improve organizational effectiveness through the development and deployment of solutions to enhance leadership, improve productivity, and drive a performance and innovation culture
  • Be a key steward of talent. Identify high potential talent and cultivate an environment for employee training, cultural transformation, and succession planning
  • Support inclusion and belonging strategy to attract and develop talent by facilitating a culture and workplace environment where employees can achieve full potential
  • Partner with relevant Human Resources Centers of Excellence (COE) to deliver human resources programs and business outcome focused solutions
  • Develop and deliver written communications or presentations as necessary to support human resource leadership or client group in delivery and effective communication of various programs, performance metrics or projects
  • Partner with client leaders to ensure the organization possesses the necessary workforce volume & capability to effectively and efficiently deliver core services while managing employment cost and developing future bench strength
  • Provide leaders and employees with coaching, consultation, and guidance on the effective conflict resolution, performance management, employee development and engagement; Assists leaders and employees at all levels with developing and delivery of effective communication and conflict management
  • Drive lateral connectivity and collaboration within Human Resources and across the enterprise. Deliver strategic customer solutions that are efficient, effective, and flexible

What You Will Need to be Successful: 

Education

  • 7 to 10 years of human resource experience supporting large client groups
  • Ability to embrace speed, flexibility, rapid execution and creative collaboration
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive projects
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities on a daily basis
  • Strong employee relations and leadership skills (empathetic, listener, strategic thinker)
  • Proficient HR and general business acumen
  • Superior follow-up and follow-through skills

Education

  • BA/BS degree with 7+ years HR experience
  • MA/MS degree with 6+ years HR experience
  • PHR preferred but not required
