You’ll work with the CommBank Health teams and bankers across the country to build their health knowledge and capability and keep them up to date with industry changes. You’ll also work with the broader CommBank stakeholders to influence lending policy, product development, industry specific thought leadership and strategic initiatives for growth.

CommBank Health is the dedicated healthcare industry vertical established to provide specialised solutions and service to grow the Group’s healthcare customers. CommBank Health is responsible for engaging with industry partners, designing and implementing strategy, policy and banker capability programs, to ensure that CommBank delivers it’s aspiration of becoming the #1 provider of banking and financial services solutions to the Australian healthcare industry.
Impact and Contribution:
Reporting to the Executive Manager – CommBank Health, the purpose of the role is to grow CommBank Health’s market share and brand, with a focus on commercial lending growth. You will do this by designing and implementing how the Group will engage with the various healthcare segments.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead and support national CommBank Health business development initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, shaping client acquisition strategies, and driving sustainable portfolio expansion.
Build and maintain a strong network of internal and external stakeholders to deliver industry insights, support strategic decision-making, and enhance CommBank Health’s market presence.
Develop strong partnerships with frontline Health teams to ensure best practice deal structuring, key industry fundamentals, portfolio management and also support in customer engagement as industry subject matter expert.
Provide deep healthcare sector expertise across the deal lifecycle, supporting complex transactions, structuring solutions, and strengthening client engagement.
In conjunction with the Policy and Performance team, evolve market-leading lending strategies aligned to emerging healthcare trends and areas of specialisation.
Partner with frontline Health teams to optimise deal structuring, portfolio performance, and customer outcomes.
Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (Risk, Product, Distribution, and Strategy) and external partners to deliver integrated solutions and differentiated value propositions.
Your skills and experience:
Relevant experience within the healthcare vertical in financial services and/or experience in risk management, credit risk.
Effective communication and negotiating skills with a highly developed customer service focus.
Ability to work and deliver in a high-pressure and changing environment.
Strong sense of time management, urgency with a focus on outcomes.
Excellent presentation skills.
Excellent analytical, planning, organising, evaluation and problem solving skills.
Capable of sourcing relevant business and industry insights from a large network of contacts.
