The Director of Growth and Strategy is responsible for leading the strategic planning of growth, expansion, and innovation initiatives across the enterprise. This role collaborates closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to shape and drive short- and long-term growth strategies, including organic growth within existing markets, incremental growth in existing markets, strategic/new market growth opportunities, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions expansion, certificate of need (CON) application development, implementations of new CON operations, as well as exploration of new service lines and operating models.

The Director provides market intelligence, financial and operational decision support, and project management leadership to ensure strategic initiatives move from concept through effective implementation with clear accountability and measurable outcomes. This leader also supports governance processes (where applicable) and ensures alignment between organizational strategy, operational execution, and community impact priorities

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Provides research, decision intelligence, and project management support for annual and multi-year enterprise growth planning processes in partnership with CEO and Senior Leadership Team.

Develops strategic growth roadmaps and implementation plans aligned with organizational priorities and financial targets, factoring in industry trends and developments.

Leads evaluation of growth opportunities within current markets, including referral growth, partnerships, and geographic focus areas, while supporting the realization and implementation of such opportunities in collaboration with applicable members of leadership team.

Provides SLT with Certificate of Need (CON) roadmaps and project tracking in relation to ongoing new application processes to implementation of new CON operations. Serves as primary contact for applicable state regulators for growth-related communications.

Supports M&A strategy from opportunity identification, preliminary diligence, and coordination of internal due diligence processes. Prepares business cases and strategic assessments for potential acquisitions, joint ventures, or partnerships.

Explores and evaluates opportunities for new/expanded service lines and operating model innovation.

1.0       60%    QUALITY OF WORK

1.1       15%     Provides support for growth projects by:

  • Research and data analysis to support growth planning process to include referral growth and partnership opportunities
  • Designs growth roadmaps and implementation plans to align tracking with organizational priorities and financial targets
  • Create Certificate of Need roadmaps and project tracking and serves as primary contact with state regulators

1.2       15%     Supports M&A strategy through the life cycle of identified projects by

  • Identifying opportunities, providing preliminary diligence, and coordinating internal team
  • Prepares business cases and strategic assessments for potential acquisitions, joint ventures, or partnerships

1.3       15%     Provides support for evaluating new or expanded service lines by:

  • Conducting feasibility studies, financial modeling and pilot planning for new offerings
  • Develops proposals to SLT to enable informed and high quality decision making

1.4       10%     Ensures communication regarding growth plans and initiatives by

  • Collaborating with Communications leadership to prepare applicable internal and external communication updates

1.5       5%       Supports the Well Care Governance Board by:

  • Preparing strategic updates and growth plan
  • Conducting analysis and preparing proforma summaries

2.0       20%    PRODUCTIVITY

2.1       10%     Demonstrates the ability to use time effectively and prioritize assigned duties by:

  • Plans and prioritizes work activities for maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Initiates and completes work assignments in a self-directed manner with minimal need for constant supervision.
  • Assures the completion of assignments within the scheduled time frame.
  • Serves on committees and councils as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by management team.

2.2      10%      Maintains and adjusts schedule to enhance team performance as evidenced by:

  • Reporting to work on time and returning promptly from errands, breaks, and meals.
  • Managing personal work schedule and time off to promote smooth agency operations.
  • Assisting other team members to ensure completion of all work assignments.  Cross training with other team members as assigned.
  • Demonstrating flexibility with changing workload/assignments.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field a plus

Licensure / Certification:    None.

Experience:  5+years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare strategy, operations or growth. Experience in home health, hospice, or post-acute strongly preferred.  Demonstrated success leading strategic initiatives or market expansion

Essential Technical Skills:  Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, Intermediate Excel user.

Interpersonal Skills:  Strong communication skills, high level of professionalism, and maintenance of confidentiality.

Essential Physical Requirements:  Varied periods of sitting or standing, walking, lifting and carrying files, reaching, stooping, long periods of data entry.

Essential Mental Requirements:  Ability to concentrate with frequent interruption, handle pressure of deadlines, good judgment, ability to follow procedures, ability to work independently.

Essential sensory requirements:  Visual acuity, touch, hearing.

Exposure to Hazards:  Office environment, toner for office machines, pitch of printers and computers.

Other – Hours of Work:  Minimum 40 hours week, typically 8-5pm or 9-6 pm, Monday through Friday.  Hybrid Work Status. Extended hours maybe required during peak workloads or increase in volume.
