MUFG Securities is seeking a high-calibre Director of Greater China Credit Sales to join our Hong Kong team, offering a dynamic opportunity to drive strategic growth for our credit business across the Greater China region—encompassing Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Taiwan. This pivotal role is suited for an accomplished credit sales professional with 7-10 years of experience, eager to make a tangible impact by deepening relationships with leading institutional investors throughout Greater China and supporting sophisticated cross-border operations. You will be part of an inclusive, forward-thinking environment where your expertise will help craft tailored solutions in partnership with seasoned teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
As Director of Greater China Credit Sales, you will play a critical role in shaping the trajectory of our credit business throughout Asia. Your focus will be on building and managing relationships with a diverse range of institutional clients—including banks, asset managers, securities houses, and insurance companies—serving both onshore and offshore markets within the Greater China region. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues in Sales, Trading, Capital Markets Group (CMG), and Financial Institutions Group (FIG) to deliver innovative credit solutions that evolve with client needs. Your leadership will help expand our institutional client base, drive the adoption of electronic trading, and ensure the highest standards of execution and client service.

  • Lead the strategic development and expansion of our credit business by engaging and onboarding institutional accounts across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Taiwan.

  • Identify and execute cross-market opportunities by collaborating seamlessly within the MUFG franchise, optimising value for both clients and the firm.

  • Partner with product teams to enhance and distribute flow and structured credit products that meet the sophisticated requirements of our clients.

  • Champion a client-centric, flow-oriented credit business that emphasises long-term partnerships and sustainable growth.

  • Leverage the MUFG client franchise to maximise profitability through thoughtful engagement and creative sales strategies.

  • Work in close coordination with regional Sales, Trading, CMG, and FIG teams to ensure our offerings remain aligned with evolving client demands.

  • Collaborate with affiliates and stakeholders to achieve business objectives and maintain a globally consistent approach to credit operations.

  • Expand our market presence by proactively generating trade ideas and business proposals tailored to the diverse needs of institutional clients throughout Greater China.

  • Promote and facilitate electronic trading capabilities as required by the trading desks, ensuring robust execution standards are met.

What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of relevant experience in markets sales, with a proven track record engaging institutional clients across multiple jurisdictions in the Greater China region. You will have deep expertise in credit products—including flow credits, structured credits, and credit financing—and demonstrate strong technical acumen. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to navigate and respect cultural differences while building trust-based relationships. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required, and proficiency in additional languages such as Cantonese is highly desirable and will be considered a strong value-add in serving our broad client base. Experience at large financial institutions is crucial for operating within complex organisational structures, and a collaborative mindset will ensure effective teamwork across product groups and regions. We value candidates who are attuned to industry developments, sensitive to under-represented groups, and committed to continuous learning to stay ahead of trends in electronic trading and market innovation.
