NXP Semiconductors N.V.

Director Global Trade Compliance Infrastructure & Operations

Eindhoven Full time

Trade Compliance at NXP spans export controls, sanctions, embargoes, customs and supply chain security, with export controls currently driving the majority of execution volume and transformation demand.

We are looking for a leader who can build and run the operating backbone of Trade Compliance — the processes, execution model, and governance that allow expert teams to focus on high‑value decisions, while execution is predictable, scalable, and supported by modern ways of working.

This is a platform‑building role for someone who enjoys creating structure in complex environments and scaling global operations.

Your Responsibilities

Own and scale the global Trade Compliance operating model

  • Design and run a clear, scalable way of working for trade compliance execution worldwide.

  • Ensure work flows smoothly from intake → execution → escalation → evidence, without bottlenecks or rework.

  • Build clarity on “who does what” so expert teams are protected from routine workload.

Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate recurring work, including the pragmatic use of AI‑enabled tooling to improve consistency, speed, and quality.

  • Partner with IT and Digital teams to embed trade compliance into systems and workflows.

  • Reduce manual effort and dependency on individual expertise.

Team & scope:

  • Lead and develop a team of ~10–12 professionals (direct and indirect reports) across global trade compliance operations enablement, process/automation, and assurance.

Other:

  • Ensure quality, control, and audit readiness

  • Work closely with Export Controls, Customs, Legal, Strategy, IT, and business. Act as a leader who brings structure, clarity, and calm to a complex environment.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Leadership experience in trade compliance, regulatory operations, risk management, or complex global operations, with responsibility for global or cross‑regional scope.

  • Proven track record in building or transforming operating models, shared services, or global execution teams.

  • Experience working across regions and functions in a matrix environment.

  • Strong systems thinker who sees how people, process, and tools fit together.

  • Comfortable leading transformation and scaling and modernizing global operations in a complex, fast‑changing environment.

  • Able to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Additional languages are a plus.

Deep technical export control expertise is not required — the ability to partner effectively with experts is essential.
