As the Director of Global Sourcing Development for Altra FW in VF you will be accountable for developing and delivering the overall sourcing strategy, ensuring the brands’ quality standards are achieved while deliveries and service expectations of our customers are met, all at the right price to meet gross margin requirements within the corporate guidelines for Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing.
You will play a crucial role in aligning sourcing strategies with the brands’ global objectives and market needs, maintaining strong relationships with key vendors and driving continuous improvements with all cross functional partners, in Product Supply, Supply Chain and shared services.
You will be maximizing all opportunities to drive duty trade agreements for the global businesses and leverage with One VF vendors. You will develop team capabilities and organizational structures, to support career development for VF associates and enable optimized processes and system management.

How You Will Make a Difference
What you will do:
- Create and publish the rolling three-year sourcing strategy for each brand, demonstrating progress, season after season.
- Ideate, design and execute the sourcing strategies for ALTRA Footwear to meet or exceed the KPI’s for Delivery, Quality, Cost, Sustainable sourcing while ensuring our vendor and factory partners meet VF Responsible Sourcing standards while delivering top quality product, at the right price, on time, and shipped in full per the customers’ needs.
- Operate as an “enterprise leader” by collaborating with other product supply and brand teams to drive One VF principles and deliver on the Corporate and Brand strategies.
- Maintain robust succession and employee personal and career development plans and execute against them.
- Build strategic partner relationships with stakeholders in AMER, EMEA, and APAC to create 5-year global allocation plan and to execute pre-season and in-season global allocation
- Lead the strategic resolution for our business practices enabling change and improved performance.
- Create innovation in our business processes such as development calendars, vendor led initiatives, speed to market solutions
- Partner with the Materials DevelopmentTeam to lead improved integration between fabric/ trims and sourcing
- Provide expertise on strategic sourcing for the brand needs and be masterful at communicating this to the brand anchor
- Fully leverage the VPM Scorecards/KPIs for Vendor and Factory performance for future allocation of production volumes
- Strive to overcome challenges in optimizing KPI management, having the passion to do more than ‘just bringing in the numbers’
- Drive the long-term opportunities for harmonization of working practices across equipment and packs to support the One VF strategy. For example, functional tasks and strategic sourcing activities.
- Provide leadership and coaching/mentoring to staff, setting goals and provide regular feedback and guidance to increase both individual and team productivity;
- Creating innovative working practices and connections with our associates, such as driving new learning experiences
- Identifying and dissolving barriers to improve our business model demonstrating learning agility and creativity
- Own the budget management of headcount allocated to ALTRA FW Global Product Supply organization
- Maximise all opportunities to drive duty trade agreements for the global business and leverage with One VF vendors.
- Own the cost improvement and margin optimization strategies and activate cost savings tracker, and publish on seasonal cadence following GTM milestones with Brand product development and merchandising partners
- Lead seasonal negotiation, collaborate with MCI in the creation of the negotiation strategy with a consistent, data-driven, and efficient costing process while ensuring cost optimization through a systematic and transparent approach
- Drive connectivity among Product Vendors, Supply Finance, and Brands enabling a One-VF Global Costing Strategy
Skills for Success
- Years of related professional experience: 15 years relevant experience in sourcing and supply chain management working for reputable, fashion, retail or consumer-facing multinational organizations. Solid Supervisory Experience.
- Educational position requirements: Degree holder in Textiles, Eq./Apparel/ Footwear/ Supply Chain
- Subject Expert In: Strategic sourcing and people development
What we expect you already know:
- Strong knowledge and expertise of Performance Running Footwear with a key focus on all technical constructions, laboratory testing, material performance, fit and wear, LEAN production, automation and speed development.
- Proactive & strategic mindset – able to see the short / mid / long term scope and implement needed actions privatively to ensure smooth business process.
- You will be coaching and developing your team, providing timely constructive feedback enabling them to excel and realize their potential.
- Proven leadership experience in managing multi-cultural teams and ability to influence stakeholders on a global level to advance business goals.
- A basic understanding of paper patterns creation and an understanding of digital product creation will be a strong advantage.

- Ability to lead, facilitate and champion change.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent English – Mandarin / Vietnamese a plus.
