Director Global Security Operations Centers/Crisis Management

Location: 220 Virginia Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

The Director Global Security Operations Centers/Crisis Management is responsible for leading the company’s efforts to effectively prepare for, detect, mitigate, and recover from physical security threats, emergencies, and crisis events.

How you will make an impact:

  • Directs the U.S. 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), which serves as the first line of defense for threat detection and mitigation, as well as emergency preparedness and response.
  • Develops strategies and policies for regional global security operation centers to ensure continuous monitoring of company facilities, associates, and assets, facilitating threat detection and mitigation while ensuring appropriate responses to emergencies, including natural disasters.
  • Oversees crisis communications to ensure associates receive timely and accurate information during potential crises.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of crisis and emergency management plans and templates across local, regional, and global levels.
  • Leads enterprise responses to actual crisis incidents and events.
  • Collaborates with enterprise leadership and business partners to communicate preparation and response strategies.
  • Facilitates or leads training, drills, and exercises in conjunction with other global security & safety staff and key stakeholders at all levels across the enterprise.
  • Establishes and maintains critical relationships with law enforcement and other relevant government entities, and collaborates with local partners to enhance response effectiveness.
  • Provides thought leadership in threat detection/mitigation as well as emergency and crisis preparedness and response, while continuously developing expertise in GSOC technology solutions and industry best practices.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends in support of threat-mitigation and emergency-response efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree or international equivalent in a criminal justice, homeland security, or related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience in a major law enforcement, emergency management, or private sector security organization, with direct oversight over emergency and crisis management programs and security operations centers; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certifications are preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, oral, and written presentation skills, as well as a high level of emotional intelligence is strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a global, matrixed environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a private sector setting, leading emergency and/or crisis management functions and security operations centers is preferred.
