  The Team: 

 S&P Global Ratings, a division of S&P Global, is the world's foremost provider of essential financial market intelligence, including independent credit ratings, indices, risk evaluation, investment research and data. The Global Infrastructure Practice was established by S&P Global Ratings to expand our ratings franchise in an area of strong growth and to leverage our significant global infrastructure expertise across the full range of infrastructure asset classes. Analytical team members reside in 16 locations globally and work on a diverse range of transactions applying different ratings criteria, predominantly for project finance and corporate debt issuers. We also work on transactions in partnership with other practices on a regular basis. The Impact: 

As a Director/Lead Analyst within the Global Infrastructure Practice, you will play a crucial role in maintaining S&P Global Ratings' reputation for analytical excellence and market leadership. Your work directly contributes to bringing transparency and comparability to financial markets, helping investors measure and manage credit risk in the rapidly growing infrastructure sector. By supporting capital markets through high-quality credit analysis, you enable businesses to grow, cities and states to build critical infrastructure, and manufacturers to create jobs. With offices in 26 countries, rating $47.5 trillion in debt, and nearly 1,400 credit analysts, your analytical opinion truly matters as part of the world's financial infrastructure that has served markets for more than 150 years.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage a broad portfolio of large infrastructure credits focused on data centers, toll roads, social accommodation, transport, and power projects, demonstrating deep understanding of project finance analysis and ensuring a consistently high level of analytic quality; act as Primary Analyst on a selected number of high-profile credits 

  • Review, critique, and provide analytic feedback on analysis and publishing performed by junior analysts 

  • Oversee the relationship with issuers in the portfolio 

  • Create and leverage effective internal partnerships, especially with other senior analysts in the Global Infrastructure Practice focused on project finance coverage, taking an enterprise perspective to connect operational activities to the wider vision 

  • Develop and communicate S&P Global Ratings thought leadership and credit themes via publications, speeches, conference presentations, and media interviews, acting as a spokesperson and senior analytical leader in sector teams 

  • Help develop leaders at all levels by providing analytical training and coaching, recognizing this as an expert capacity to guide others on complex matters 

  • Credibly champion S&P Global Ratings analytic views, leveraging networks at senior leadership levels to ensure strategic alignment and buy-in 

  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week 

What We're Looking For: 

Basic Required Qualifications: 

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 10+ years of experience in financial services or capital markets 

  • Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degree or CFA strongly preferred 

  • Strong project finance background with deep understanding of project finance analysis gained in a transactional, analytical or credit role with at least 5 years experience as a project finance analyst 

  • Advanced analytical skills and capital markets knowledge with ability to monitor external trends, develop models and consider multiple scenarios; transportation and energy infrastructure interests and experience a strong plus 

  • Demonstrated ability to ensure that analytical guidelines, quality standards, procedures and policies established are adhered to for all credits, maintaining the quality standard expected across the business line 

  • Proven ability to coach and mentor junior analytical staff in a constructive manner, acting as an expert for colleagues in the specialized field 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt communication style to different situations and effectively respond to adversity 

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer. 

Additional Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams or initiatives across the organization 

  • Track record of influencing stakeholders internally and externally to support key initiatives 

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate market trends and represent the organization externally as a subject matter expert 

  • Experience in developing innovative, data-driven solutions with long-term perspective for complex infrastructure financing challenges 

Compensation/Benefits Information: 

(This section is only applicable to US candidates:) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $170,000- $231,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. 

(This section is only applicable to Canadian Candidates:) S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is 198,000 CAD to 256,000 CAD. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual's performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In accordance with Ontario's new regulations effective January 1, 2026, this job posting provides information on expected compensation.
