Engineering, Test & Technology is seeking a Director, Global Flight Training to join the Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) team. The selected candidate will be required to work 100% onsite at the assigned location and should expect a travel requirement of approximately 40%.

The Director, Global Flight Training is a high-visibility, enterprise-impacting leadership role responsible for Boeing’s global pilot instructor organization, multi-site training delivery, regulatory conformity, and external customer partnerships that support safety and operational training outcomes worldwide.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the Global Flight Training organization, including a global instructor workforce strategy grounded in CBTA and EBT principles: recruitment, qualification, rostering, career pathways, performance management, and succession planning

  • Provide strategic leadership for a consistent, competency-based training model across all campuses and labor groups

  • Serve as the accountable executive for flight training regulatory conformity (FAA, EASA, UKCAA, MOLIT, CAAC, CAAS, and other national authorities), audit engagement, and remediation

  • Build senior- and executive-level partnerships across enterprise and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Partner with internal cross-functional departments and programs (BGS, BCA, BDS, Corporate)

  • Design scalable labor models and governance that align with local labor and contract requirements

  • Ensure compliant contractor and third-party (Purchased Services) models and use contract-ready checklists for auditable operations

  • Act as Flight Training’s senior operational liaison on training development, regulatory submissions, audits, and enforcement interactions

  • Partner with Legal & Compliance on data governance, export controls, and contractual obligations

  • Develop and deliver centralized LMS and competency systems with robust analytics to demonstrate outcomes such as time to competence, pass/certification rates, and compliance metrics

  • Lead instructor investment planning and connect capital decisions to measurable ROI and operational risk reduction

  • Maintain a Risk, Issues & Opportunities map for all global campuses and ensure timely resolution

  • Build and sustain executive relationships with airline customers, regulators, and industry bodies; represent Boeing in external forums

  • Support commercial training solutions that align with operational, safety, and growth objectives in partnership with internal teams and customers

  • Own director level budget development, capital planning, and P&L/cost center oversight; define and report KPIs to senior leadership

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)-recognized Airline Transport Pilot license

  • Minimum experience in a senior leadership role

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Flight Training Systems

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant regulatory area (e.g. airline operations, pilot training, certification and design, etc.)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a flight crew member (i.e. pilot-in-command, first officer, systems operator, navigator, flight engineer)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with teams to solve complex issues

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Boeing Commercial Aircraft

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with customer airlines or government agencies

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and driving strategies and processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Proven leadership experience leading teams, initiatives, or cross‑functional projects to meet business objectives, influence change, and translate vision and strategy into measurable outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop people by providing guidance, mentorship, performance coaching, and career development to build high‑performing, inclusive teams

  • Strong communication skills and active listening, with comfort fostering open dialogue, psychological safety, and effective stakeholder engagement across a global organization

  • Proven credibility with airlines and civil aviation authorities

  • Experience managing multisite budgets, capital planning, and complex labor/contractor models

  • Deep practical knowledge of FAA, EASA, UKCAA, CAAS, CAAC, and other CAA regulatory frameworks; experience leading audits, approvals, and remediation programs

  • Track record of implementing enterprise LMS/competency systems, learning programs, and scalable organizational designs

  • Strong stakeholder management, executive presence, and experience in a matrixed, global enterprise
