Summary of the role:
The Record to Report (R2R) leader is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end financial close and reporting processes for LSA/LSE and AMA. This role is responsible for accurate and compliant financial reporting, timely month end, year-end close, oversight of journal entries and account reconciliations, process standardization and automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive strategic transformation initiatives.

About the role:
Financial Close and Reporting
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual GL close processes across LSA/LSE and AMA.
Review and oversight of all close related journal entries during month/quarter and annual
Lead the Direct to Customer strategic initiative to ensure timely reconciliation, early warning, resolution to open items and adequate provisions
Lead the account reconciliation process ensuring robust review and timely closure of aged items ensuring aging within permissible limits and adequate provisions and resolution of open items
Conduct detailed trial balance reviews during month-end and quarter-end close and provide and provide explanations for variances for key accounts
Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all fixed asset and lease accounting activities.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and alignment with close calendar and timelines
Oversight of third-party vendor on accounting entries for close process ensuring close collaboration and review of KPI/SLA on a regular basis keeping them accountable for their task.
Collaborate closely with controllers to ensure prompt issue reporting and foster a culture of transparency and no surprises.
Process Optimization & Transformation
Drive standardization of R2R processes across regions with close collaboration with the Global Process Accounting lead.
Partner along with Global Process accounting lead and the RPA/AI Lead to streamline and digitalize the R2R process
Collaborate with IT and transformation teams to streamline workflows.
Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to SOX and internal control frameworks.
Support internal and external audits with documentation and process walkthroughs.
Performance Management
Define and monitor KPIs for R2R operations (e.g., close cycle time, reconciliation accuracy).
Report performance metrics to senior leadership and recommend improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner cross-functionally with Controllership, Retail operations. Treasury Supply, IT and third-party vendors
Leadership & Governance
Lead a global team across the US and Bangalore, with a mix of direct and matrixed reporting lines
Foster a high-performance culture with strong focus on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
Establish and monitor KPIs and dashboards for performance tracking and issue escalation
Lead and support strategic transformation initiatives related to R2R Tower
Build and mentor a high-performing global R2R team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
About the role:
Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting and a CA/CPA is strongly preferred
18 + years of experience overseeing controllership functions, serving as Controller / R2R head within shared services environments.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior finance leaders and cross functional team
Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead a cross functional team
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of finance processes and systems (ERP/Blackline etc)
Experience with automation tools and technologies (e.g., RPA, AI).
Technical accounting skills with a detailed understanding of current GAAP standard and SEC reporting requirements
Advanced proficiency with Hyperion and SAP S4 experience is a plus
