What you'll be doing
As a key member of CIBC’s team, the Director, GIC Portfolio and Revenue Optimization is responsible for providing leadership in analyzing and identifying opportunities to optimize portfolio performance, revenue, and client experience across all GIC products. This role oversees the delivery of ongoing performance insights and communicates results with a focus on portfolio profitability, balance retention and growth, and financial forecasting across various plans, products, and distribution channels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to drive portfolio performance and support CIBC’s business objectives.
Success in this role requires the ability to interpret GIC portfolio data, extract actionable insights, and recommend improvements to portfolio performance. The Director must demonstrate effective communication skills to clearly present findings and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders. Additionally, the Director will develop and maintain strong internal relationships across the organization, leveraging negotiation and influencing skills to shape opinions and drive outcomes.

How you'll succeed
Strategy and planning - Contribute to the development of business strategies in partnership with the Senior Director and other business leaders. Conduct comprehensive analyses to identify opportunities, formulate proposals, and develop competitive strategies. The objective is to increase business revenue, enhance competitiveness, grow market share, optimize operational costs and improve client experience. Work closely with internal partners to oversee, communicate, and align business plans, ensuring effective execution and delivery of strategic objectives. Lead portfolio and revenue optimization analysis for the GIC portfolio, assessing performance by plan, product, channel, market share, and competitive landscape. Oversee the preparation and delivery of regular reports on profitability, growth, and retention, highlighting key trends for performance updates and financial planning. Extract actionable insights and recommend strategies to enhance portfolio performance and client experience using strong analytical skills. Communicate findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders through presentations, reports, and meetings.
Product management - Extract actionable insights and recommend performance improvements based on portfolio results, market trends, and competitive analysis to drive profitable balance growth. Apply insights on consumer behavior, technology, competition, and regulatory changes to evolve products, pricing, and client experiences, promoting profitable portfolio growth and enhanced client satisfaction. Actively participate in monthly and quarterly financial forecasting (LE) to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and support data-driven decision-making.
Build partnerships - Collaborate with key partners (e.g., Analytics, Modeling, Marketing, Technology, Digital, Front Line, Client Segments, Finance) to assess current state features, processes, and portfolio performance, and work with the partners to enhance. Work closely the partners to optimize sales and growth across channels, to build positive client experiences, and ultimately drive portfolio growth. Foster cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational success and maintain alignment with overall business goals.
Who you are
You can demonstrate extensive experience in product management, product development, strategic planning, and partnerships sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives (experience preferably in financial services). You have strong problem-solving and communication skills, and financial acumen.
