Position Summary

This role will support business side efforts for GIS consolidation and technology related projects. Partners with senior leaders to drive integrated process, data and technology improvements within the business area and/or across the enterprise. Accountable for advancing the integrity, quality and function of business unit-related processes, asset data, and applications to meet/surpass industry standards. Regularly measures process effectiveness, efficiency, adherence, and data integrity. Accountable for developing, implementing and managing the mission critical enterprise databases and supporting systems used in the company's operation of assets.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Asset Data Business Integration: Serves as the business unit owner, system and process integration lead, and change champion for data driven decision making and asset data analytics, reporting and technology improvement opportunities and enhancements.

  • Technology & Data Strategy: Develops and maintains a holistic business unit strategy for processes, systems, databases, analysis, visualization, and automation of spatial and non-spatial asset data. Senior advocate for demand collection, planning, and prioritization in partnership with senior leaders, IT, and the Enterprise strategic support organizations.

  • Data Owner: Represents Gas and Distribution business area requirements at an enterprise level as it pertains to the integrity, accessibility, maintenance, and improvement of spatial and non-spatial Asset data and its use. Accountable and serves as sponsor for the effective implementation of relevant projects that affect said business areas throughout the project lifecycle while controlling scope to ensure key objectives are met, and targeted benefits realized. Understands and drives integration with other initiatives and systems as needed to meet the overall strategic direction.

  • Talent Management: Recruits, leads, develops, trains, and engages team of high performing Geographic Information System (GIS) professionals. Participates in strategic workforce and talent planning and vendor oversight. Demonstrates collaborative leadership in a matrixed organization.

  • Performance Management: Accountable for overall process effectiveness, efficiency, and adherence across the business unit, and sponsors associated action plans to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Accountable for budgeting, resourcing, and benefits realization for all aligned improvement and enhancement programs.

  • Role & Process Governance: Maintains the integrity of critical business unit processes, data, and systems, driving continuous integration and optimization in accordance with best practices. Governs role/process design documentation, performance measures, reports, and training materials; final approver for all BU-associated changes in alignment with enterprise standards and methodologies.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least ten years' experience in the utility industry, with an emphasis in Geospatial Information Systems and/or Asset Data Management.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership.

  • Ability to translate business problems and objectives into functional requirements.

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate within a matrix organization.

  • Significant utility industry business/process knowledge to influence and drive enterprise process and data focused initiatives.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver strategic messages and build strong employee engagement while delivering on key performance measures.

  • Demonstrated understanding of core business processes and industry trends.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $129,000.00 to $183,200.00 per year
