This is a Hybrid role in Toronto

Take your career to a new level by joining the Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence (DACoE), whose mission is to drive top-tier growth, profit, and customer experience in Canadian Personal & Business Banking through data and analytics. We transform information into insight, arm partners with facts, and drive the business forward.

The Director, P&BB Generative Artificial Intelligence is responsible for advancing Generative AI within P&BB by driving the implementation of high‑value use cases, contributing to AI strategy development, and leading first‑line AI risk management. The Director oversees the design, build, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Generative AI solutions that improve customer and employee experiences, unlock operational efficiencies, and support revenue growth.

In this role, you will lead and staff a specialized Generative AI team and work closely with partners across P&BB, Technology, Governance, and external vendors to ensure GenAI solutions are scalable, aligned to business needs, and developed responsibly. You will maintain oversight of all Generative AI initiatives in P&BB – regardless of whether they are developed internally or through vendor partnerships – providing architectural guidance, implementation leadership, and governance support throughout the lifecycle.

Success requires a combination of deep retail banking expertise and strong technical understanding of learning algorithms, LLMs, and emerging Generative AI techniques. You can identify practical and compelling AI opportunities, shape them into executable initiatives, and lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering them. You translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders and manage multiple concurrent priorities with transparency and discipline.

Equally important is the ability to lead with strong risk awareness and governance discipline. As the first line of defence for Generative AI in P&BB, the Director ensures all solutions comply with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and responsible AI principles. This includes proactive identification of risks, oversight of controls, and alignment of development practices to established AI governance frameworks.

Above all, this role requires a leader who can move fluidly between strategic contribution and hands‑on execution – bringing clarity to ambiguity, championing responsible innovation, and ensuring P&BB can safely and effectively harness the power of Generative AI.
