Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our Finance team.

About the role:

The Director, FP&A leads the coordination of budgeting, monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting the department or our overall financial performance. You will help consolidate financial results and providing strategic insights to senior leadership regarding our financial trajectory. You should have an extensive background in corporate FP&A, experience leading teams, experience distilling financial analyses for leadership teams.

You will report into the Sr. Director, Insurance Financial Management .

Work Location: This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in: Dallas, GA. You will be fully remote; however, our approach to work may adapt over time. Future models could potentially involve a hybrid presence at the hub office associated with your metro area. #LI-Remote

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $162,453 - $213,220 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the consolidated budget and re-forecasting process to ensure total understanding of the operating plan, external guidance, and financial targets; provide strategic performance insights to executive leadership.
  • Advanced Management Reporting: Guide the production and analysis of comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, delivering high-level trend analysis and variance reporting for leadership and investor relations.
  • Allocation Framework Ownership: Oversee the development of cost allocation management frameworks that align with the organizational operating model.
  • Systems & Processes Strategy: Lead internal finance process improvements, including full oversight of financial planning systems, data integrity, and the development of granular reporting capabilities.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Manage corporate FP&A professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and professional growth.
  • Executive Communication: Deliver concise financial results, trends, and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of public company experience in FP&A roles.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated mastery in analytical with expert financial modeling skills and the ability to translate complex data into applicable corporate strategies.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a public or large company FP&A environment.
  • 5+ years of experience leading comprehensive budgeting and planning processes.
  • Expert proficiency in building and enhancing core FP&A tools and systems.

Bonus points:

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or financial services industries strongly preferred.
  • MBA in Finance or MS in Financial Analysis.
  • Specific experience in managed care or healthcare.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL/BigQuery for large-scale data analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency with NetSuite and Adaptive Insights.
