SUMMARY
The Director of Finance will oversee the day-to-day commercial finance and accounting functions for the USL organization including all planning and gross to net accounting and reporting. This position plays a critical role in managing the financial complexities involved in calculating the true net revenue of drugs and ensuring the company has appropriate balance sheet reserves. This position also includes leading short to long-term revenue forecasting for all products, analysis and performance reporting, product profitability, and predictive modeling which supports the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company’s financial goals and objectives.
- Manage and develop a team of finance professionals responsible for executing USL strategic financial functions.
- Predictive new and on market product modeling, market opportunity, prescriptions, sales units and resulting net sales and margin dollars
- Provide ad hoc analytics for the Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Partner Relations and other functions as needed.
- Serve as trusted business advisor to the Commercial (Sales & Marketing) Teams and other key stakeholders across Supply Chain/Operations, Information Systems, Legal, Compliance, HR, and Corporate.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the Financial Planning, Performance and Forecasting process to include monthly close, cost center management and annual budgeting (AOP)/forecasting.
- Partner with the Business to deliver proactive, data-driven advice and insightful analysis; develop cost / benefit analyses to aid in decision making.
- Draw on actual results, business outlook, and risks & opportunities in tandem with active collaboration with Corporate Finance and the Business to shape recommendations on forward looking financial forecast.
Gross to Net Revenue:
- Manage monthly accruals for rebates, chargebacks, and other deductions.
- Process gross to net allowances including chargebacks, rebates, admin fees, and government payments.
- Stay informed about evolving federal and state pricing regulations and ensure the company's GTN practices are compliant.
- Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of GTN processes through streamlining, automation, and best practices.
- Manage partners supporting GTN processes
System and Data Integrity:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial systems including establishing and maintaining adequate internal controls and operating procedures as required.
- Develop, maintain and improve systems, SOPs, processes, metrics, controls, and procedures in relation to finance and accounting functions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless delivery of essential information to enhance financial decision-making processes.
- Work with external auditors in completion of quarterly and annual financial statement reviews and audits.
- Review monthly & quarterly supporting schedules / reconciliations for management and audit support.
Reporting:
- Month-end expense reporting for all cost centers.
- Provide timely, accurate financial reporting to multiple parties and stakeholders to assist in effective planning, organization, and direction in achieving company goals. Includes review of periodic financial variance analysis compared to prior period, budget and forecast.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics or related degree-MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical or other life sciences forecasting/analytics experience with a minimum of 3 years closely supporting Marketing and Sales Teams.
- Previous experience working in both generic and branded pharmaceuticals preferred.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. pharmaceutical market and payer system with at least 3 years of gross to net accounting and forecasting experience required.
- Deep expertise in U.S. Federal and State Pricing Programs (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare, 340B) and related regulations.
- Significant experience and demonstrated aptitude in financial analysis tools and software such as Excel, Power BI, and specialized ERP and GTN software such as SAP and Vistex.
- Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset and a detail-oriented approach with the ability to partner with customers and understand their point of view; provide insight and value and multiple options for achieving objectives.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various internal stakeholders, effectively manage customer expectations, and to seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- At least 5 years previous management experience required.
Compensation Range:
$178,457.00 - $267,685.00
