Title and Summary
Director, Finance Strategy and Planning
Overview:
The Director, Finance Strategy and Planning, Worldwide Finance, reports to the Group Executive, FP&A, and is responsible for 1) supporting the Finance Leadership Team (FLT) objectives, including the planning and coordination of meetings and follow-up on projects and initiatives; 2) driving the coordination, development and execution of communications throughout Worldwide Finance; and 3) supporting the CFO with the planning and coordination of internal and external engagements such as presentations, coordination of CFO quarterly all hands meetings, as well as other activities including the organization of the OCFO.
The role also helps the FLT in its pursuit of being a more agile, connected, efficient, and effective organization as it supports the strategy of the company and the execution of its objectives. In addition, a major focus is the communication throughout Worldwide Finance at all levels of the organization as it relates to programs, initiatives and activities.
This role is intended to be a rotational position, with the targeted time in role being 2 – 3 years.
Role:
• Facilitate critical executive level reporting, including CEO Quarterly Operating Reviews
• Coordinate and support the FLT to develop objectives for the function and plans that integrate with the corporate objectives
• Work with the FLT and with key business partners across the organization (such as Human Resources) to ensure alignment of corporate and business unit processes and tools in support of the execution of the strategy and objectives
• Work with the FLT to develop and track objectives; coordinate, develop and execute communications throughout Worldwide Finance, which will include communications from the OCFO, and the FLT
• Establish a corporate “voice” by developing original content, style and messaging for the FLT
• In close collaboration with colleagues in Worldwide Communications and HR, construct presentations for the FLT and develop company-wide employee communications for WF
• Plan and coordinate CFO bi-weekly staff meetings, all day/in person FLT, All Hands and Face to Face meetings; help to shape messaging and create cohesive end to end communications
• Support the CFO and work closely with the Executive Assistant to the CFO in planning and coordinating internal and external engagements such as presentations, business trips and meetings (including preparation of information/resources needed)
• Ensure the OCFO is well organized and runs in an effective manner, including project management when needed
• Support with the preparation for the CFO reviews

• Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and a focus on designing and executing communications programs that help drive results
• Strong knowledge of communications disciplines, including executive communications, corporate communications and employee communications
• Sound judgment with proven ability to build rapport and gain acceptance at all levels, and in all business units and regions
• Takes initiative to providing insights and thought leadership through strong business acumen
• Ability to identify/anticipate communications opportunities/needs, as well as recommend and develop solutions, often with little input or direction
• Superior writing and editing skills with a commitment to the highest quality standards; critical thinker able to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling and influential communications
• Flexible and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills; experienced in working under tight deadlines with shifting/competing priorities
• Ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion
• Bachelor’s degree required

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
