As the Director, Field Strategy & Operations (HIV Prevention), you’ll work with HIV Prevention Field teams in the crucial role of bringing health innovations to healthcare providers and patients, impacting lives and contributing to our mission of improving global health.  This role requires a dynamic leader who can effectively engage with field leaders and help elevate operational and executional excellence for the HIV Prevention Sales and Cross-Functional Field Matrix teams.  The ideal candidate will be proven to have strong strategic development skills, strong people skills, organizational and project management capabilities, and field operations experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Matrix Program Development & Delivery

  • With Field and marketing Leaders, develop matrix program development strategy, and oversee and lead the ongoing development, evolution, and implementation of matrix-related tools and programs, such as G360 account profiling, planning initiatives, triage form updates, and health check surveys, ensuring these evolving resources effectively support the national L4P field matrix teams.

  • Identify opportunities and drive BU field efforts to streamline, prioritize, and focus organizational efforts to enhance productivity/efficiency while accelerating execution

  • With field leaders, the Director is responsible for collaborating and coordinating matrix workshop development to address identified needs and supporting excellence in roll-out and delivery at national, mid-year, and regional level meetings.

  • Develop solutions to a range of complex problems in support of ongoing matrix collaboration and issue resolution

 Operational Excellence & Sales Force Support

  • Support the executional excellence of the HIV Prevention sales force by refining and enhancing operational processes and aligning communications support with the Sales Leadership Team.
  • The Director helps ensure seamless operations and serves as a project lead for the development and delivery of core content for sales team on-site and off-site meetings, strategizing with Field Sales Leadership Team, Marketing and CL&D leads.
  • With sales and marketing leaders, lead ongoing collaboration with the sales analytics team as we continually advance performance tracking and communications.
  • Driving business results and strategic initiatives through overall BU coordination, operational rigor, tracking of field KPIs, cross-functional/leadership alignment, and partnership.

Matrix Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead alignment via the bi-weekly cross-functional field leadership forum by setting the agenda, streamlining processes, and ensuring follow-through on action items.
  • The Director coordinates with field and marketing stakeholders to ensure alignment and help drive the continuous evolution of the L4P ways of working, strengthening cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic objectives. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate with sales leaders and leaders of cross-functional field teams (Medical, Field Reimbursement, Nurse Educators, Community Liaisons, Institutional Account Directors and others) in supporting sales and matrix operational excellence and helping to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Commercial Learning & Development, Sales Operations) routinely and as needed to support key meetings and initiatives.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects with field force impact, utilizing strong project management skills to achieve strategic objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 12 Years' Experience, OR Master's Degree and 10 Years Experience

  • Ability to engage in intermittent travel as may be reasonably required, including travel to off-site sales and field meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial experience in field sales, marketing, sales operations, or related commercial function.  Prior head office based commercial experience.

  • Strategic Leadership in Sales: Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic sales plans that align with national goals and drive regional success

  • Experience in health systems and complex selling environments:  Demonstrated understanding of complex healthcare ecosystems, ideally including experience with account management and navigation of complex access pathways (i.e. acquisition, billing, and EMR integration within client operations) 

  • Cross-Functional Experience: Direct and/or indirect experience in other field facing functions and demonstrated knowledge of the role each play.  

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional partners such as National Accounts, Marketing, and Medical Scientists to achieve strategic objectives.  Proven ability to influence without authority and co-develop solutions to meet organizational/customer needs.

  • Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional projects with organizational impact, achieving strategic goals, and optimizing executional excellence through solid project management.


 

The salary range for this position is: $205,615.00 - $266,090.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
