The Director, Field Sales develops and maintains relationships with small and medium-sized accounts. They require an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

You will serve as a key leader responsible for driving sustainable strategic planning and leading high-impact initiatives across the internal field sales organization. In this role, you will work closely with omni-channel operations, strategy advancement, sales enablement, HR, finance, and other cross-functional partners to align priorities, streamline decision-making, and strengthen communication across the business. You will play a critical role in improving productivity, advancing strategic objectives, and uniting teams around shared goals and measurable outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic planning efforts across the channel to support business priorities, operational excellence, and long-term growth.
  • Drive high-impact cross-functional initiatives that improve alignment, execution, and overall business performance.
  • Partner closely with omni-channel operations, strategy advancement, sales enablement, HR, finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure coordinated planning and execution.
  • Develop frameworks, operating rhythms, and governance processes that support efficient decision-making and organizational clarity.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce complexity, and improve communication across teams.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, milestones, and measurable results.
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations, updates, and recommendations for senior leadership using Microsoft PowerPoint and other communication tools.
  • Monitor initiative progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans to ensure business goals are achieved.
  • Support leadership in prioritizing resources, resolving challenges, and driving accountability across multiple workstreams.
  • Foster strong partnerships across the organization to promote collaboration, transparency, and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, and influence teams and partners in a matrixed environment to achieve enterprise and channel objectives.
  • Represent the channel in strategic planning discussions, cross-functional forums, and leadership meetings.

 Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing and go to market strategy for a large field sales organization, preferably in the health care or insurance industry
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of 5 or more marketing professionals
  • Must be able to travel 25%-50% of the time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills, and the ability to use data and insights to drive marketing decision-making and actions
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to guide the development and execution of impactful and effective marketing campaigns and events
  • Proficiency in various marketing tools and platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage market, products, regulations, and compliance standards

Driving Statement:

This role is part of our company's driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and are expected to maintain personal vehicle liability insurance. State driver's license is subject to driver license validation and MVR review. Individuals must carry vehicle insurance in accordance with their residing state minimum required limits, or $25,000 bodily injury per person/$25,000 bodily injury per event /$10,000 for property damage or whichever is higher.

Language Proficiency Assessment:

Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$126,300 - $173,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
