Job Description
The Director, Facility Engineer, provides direction and oversight for the daily maintenance and repair functions for the Jerome Schottenstein Center. Supports leadership in the development and execution of the capital plan. Serves on the facility leadership team. Manages all staff and contractors responsible for maintaining the HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, steam plant, plumbing, ice sheet, and related systems and equipment. Assigns and performs work in all areas of the engineering department. Oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, and manages payroll for all staff. Inspects completed work and oversees compliance with building codes. Identifies projects, programs, or repairs that will enhance the facility and participates in the strategic planning related to building systems and construction projects. Supervises the facility Project Manager to oversee and execute both capital and small-scale projects. Participates in the area budget planning process and is accountable to maintain annual budget. Responsible for scheduling of building systems for daily and event operations. Monitors alarm systems for emergencies. Oversees the annual external service contracts for mechanical equipment, works directly with contractors to ensure service agreements are fulfilled, manages and tracks invoices and payments. Will schedule and provide event day coverage which includes managing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC needs as well as any system troubleshooting throughout the duration of the event. Manages and maintains the facility’s CMMS for accuracy and tracks preventative maintenance completion. Position works a varied schedule including evenings and weekends based on events and project schedules. Subject to emergency call in. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience in a large scale facility operating and maintaining a physical plant, including but not limited to electrical, steam, plumbing, refrigeration, and power systems and maintaining all related equipment. Experience managing employees in the maintenance field. Ability to read, understand and interpret plans, sketches, blueprints, oral and written instructions required. Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions. Must be able to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends. Must be able to cover emergency call ins.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 95,300 - $124,650. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
