As Director Evidence Generation you are accountable for all medical affairs led evidence generation across Germany empowering teams to deliver meaningful evidence through establishment and application of methodological solutions and standards. This includes innovative / digital ways to data generation and analysis to build wholistic, meaningful and integrated evidence plans to thereby shape patient outcomes.

As a senior leader, the Director, Evidence Generation will provide strategic oversight of Germany’s RWE and non‑interventional programmes, build and lead a multidisciplinary team, and champion evidence generation with stakeholders to secure outcomes that benefit patients and the business.

In this role you will

  • Advise and oversee the medical affairs led evidence generation for the German organization including the design of real-world evidence (RWE) studies (e.g., non-interventional, observational, data base studies, systematic literature) to address research questions across the portfolio and in close collaboration with the respective Therapeutic Area Head/ Medical Affairs Lead.
  • Advise and oversee the preparation of study documents, including protocol, statistical analysis plan and report.
  • Oversee or lead the management and analysis of real-world datasets to derive clinically meaningful outputs.
  • Oversee or lead the development of novel methodological approaches in evidence generation.
  • Oversee and lead the “Medical Unmet Need” department while providing strategic sparring and methodological advice to data mining / analysis and vendor selection.
  • Ensure all research is executed and documented according to good clinical practice and highest industry standards as well as local governance requirements.
  • Be an active member of the German medical leadership team and drive clear accountabilities and execution in line with the company culture within and beyond dedicated areas of focus.

Why you?

Qualifications & Skills:

  • PhD (or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related discipline, with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Proven experience in real‑world evidence (RWE) study design and/or analysis, including statistical methods; strong expertise in working with real‑world data and assessing data quality and reliability.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management experience: builds trusted relationships, influences at all levels, and communicates complex information clearly.
  • Proven leader who sets clear strategy, takes decisive, accountable action, develops high‑performing, inclusive teams.
  • Strong knowledge of the German regulatory, data governance, health‑technology assessment (HTA), and payer environments.
  • Track record of developing and delivering evidence plans and non‑interventional study designs.
  • Proactive and self‑motivated; willing to take accountability, contribute ideas, and provide decisive input to teams at national, regional and global levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and motivational skills; fluent in English and German (written and spoken).

Preferred qualifications

  • MD (or equivalent clinical qualification).
  • Proven project management experience, including budget oversight and on‑time delivery of milestones.
  • Experience in one or more of the following therapy areas: Oncology, Vaccines, or Specialty Medicines.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive a clear vision, set ambitious objectives, and monitor progress against key outcomes.
  • Resilient, persistent and creative collaborator with a solutions‑focused approach.
