Director, Engineering

The Engineering Director is a high-level executive within the Facilities Engineering Department, responsible for strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making. The role requires comprehensive understanding of the full scope of engineering operations, including the physical plant, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance.

Job Duties:

  • Strategic Vision and Goal Setting: Establish a clear strategic vision for the engineering department, setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant goals that align with the overall objectives of the organization.
  • Plan Development: Develop a comprehensive strategic plan that outlines key initiatives, projects, and actions required to achieve the department's goals, including resource allocation, timelines, and milestones.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Involve key stakeholders in the planning process, including department team members, other organizational departments, and external partners, to ensure broad support and alignment.
  • Implementation and Management: Execute the strategic plan, managing resources, overseeing project progress, and adjusting strategies as necessary to respond to changing conditions and new opportunities.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department against the strategic plan, regularly reporting progress to upper management and adjusting the plan as needed to ensure success.
  • Ensure efficient use of CMMS workorder system for all operational tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 4 Years job related experience is required.
  • Kentucky Driver's License required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
