As the leader of Digital Innovation & Market Intelligence, you’ll be the catalyst for Pfizer’s next big moves—connecting breakthrough ideas, emerging technologies, and strategic partnerships to enterprise priorities. You’ll uncover insights others can’t, forge relationships with VCs, startups, and tech disruptors, and partner with the Forward Impact Team, AI Center of Excellence, Creation Center, and other digital leaders to turn intelligence into impact.

Strategic Intelligence & Foresight:

  • Evolve the Innovation Radar, scanning frontier technologies, market signals, and geopolitical trends.
  • Deliver insights beyond what AI/LLMs can surface—leveraging human networks, proprietary sources, and advanced analytics.
     

Ecosystem Partnerships & Alliances:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with VCs, startups, and digital innovators—including proactive outreach and cold calls.
  • Partner with Business Development and Strategy & Consulting to align digital opportunities with enterprise growth strategies.
  • Use AI-enabled platforms to map ecosystems and identify emerging players faster.
     

Disciplined Innovation (in collaboration with Portfolio Lead, FIT Leads, AI COE and other key stakeholders):

  • Ensure innovation partnerships and pilots are aligned to clear strategic priorities, have measurable outcomes, and are regularly assessed for impact.
  • Recommend when to accelerate, pivot, or sunset initiatives that aren’t delivering value so resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities.
     

Collaboration & Operating Model:

  • Work with the Forward Impact Team to frame business challenges and hand off qualified opportunities for piloting.
  • Collaborate with AI COE, Creation Center, and horizontal digital leaders to integrate insights and alliances into enterprise strategy.
  • Champion adaptive planning and AI-assisted governance to accelerate idea-to-value.
     

Enterprise Influence & Storytelling:

  • Deliver ELT-ready briefings and horizon scans that shape strategic decisions.
  • Connect insights to portfolio planning and resource allocation using AI-powered visualization and narrative tools.
     

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Build and lead a small team of direct reports (<5).
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, ethical intelligence, and AI-enabled innovation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM, business, economics, or related field); advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years in digital innovation, competitive intelligence, or strategic partnerships.
  • Comfort with cold outreach and proactive engagement to build external networks.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Expertise in emerging technologies, vendor landscapes, and alliance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI creatively for research, analysis, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience collaborating with BD/Corporate Strategy on ecosystem plays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or relevant advanced degree
  • Exposure to geopolitical risk and regulatory trend analysis.
  • Established network across innovation ecosystems (VCs, incubators, academic labs).

  • Our business is a 7x24x365 endeavor.  This role may on occasion require physical or virtual participation on a weekend, holiday, or after normal business hours.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
