The Director of Digital Content Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day programming and management of the Digital Content team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and innovative content across PGA.com, PGA of America social channels, and amateur golf properties. This role oversees the development and execution of digital content strategies to support organizational goals, enhance the digital presence of PGA of America Members, and drive engagement. The Director will utilize analytics to assess and optimize content performance, and will serve as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effectiveness of digital initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Leadership and Team Management:
Manage and mentor team members such as digital content leads, specialists, and coordinators to foster creativity and excellence.
Set clear, achievable goals aligned with the department's strategic objectives and ensure effective execution by the team.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the team to develop and implement digital content strategies that align with our mission to grow the game of golf.
Actively create and oversee content, ensuring it aligns with the organization's goals and enhances the profiles of PGA of America Golf Professionals.
Participate in media partner discussions for earned, bartered and collaborative content efforts.
Deliver live coverage of PGA Member Events (e.g. The PGA of America Professional Championship) and our spectator events through a PGA Member lens (e.g. PGA Championship, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship and The Ryder Cup).
Standard Operating Procedures Development:
Develop and implement standard operating procedures that incorporate digital strategy and SEO / GEO best practices to streamline workflow and enhance productivity within the digital content team.
Implement best practices on calendaring and programming by utilizing monday.com or similar project management software.
Ensure these procedures drive traffic and engagement to our owned and operated websites and apps.
Implement and execute social media tactics that ensure all content is on-brand and part of a larger, cohesive social strategy.
Analytics and Performance Measurement:
Manage and analyze data using Google Analytics / Amplitude and social media analytics tools to track performance, user engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive continuous improvement in digital content strategies.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and deliver comprehensive internal reports to upper management and stakeholders, detailing team performance metrics, project outcomes, and strategic initiative progress.
Ensure clear and effective communication channels within the team and across departments, facilitating transparency and informed decision-making.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Encourage intellectual curiosity within the team and drive initiatives to explore new ways of achieving excellence in digital content.
Lead efforts to enhance short-form video content, the team’s specialty, through innovative techniques and technologies.

SUPERVISION:
This is a supervisory position responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees within the department.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for preparation and oversight of the Department budget and for monitoring results.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Humanities, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
Seven years of experience in a digital content leadership role, preferably within sports or entertainment sectors.
Four years team management experience
Experience operating digital channels 365 days a year, including live event experience.
Expertise in SEO and developing knowledge of GEO and other digital marketing tactics to drive traffic and engagement.
Experience with internal and external reporting.
Experience working in new media content platforms and analyzing the efficacy of those platforms to ensure our platform mix is aligned to definitive ROI metrics
Experience working with Google Analytics and social media analytics tools.
Advanced knowledge of and passion for the game of golf.
Experience with content creation for high-profile events or experiences preferred
Familiarity with the latest trends in digital media and short-form video content preferred
Leadership certification or training is a plus.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Job Knowledge/Technology: Must have a proven track record of outstanding project management skills. Fastidious organizational skills. Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Strong creative vision with an attention to detail and an aptitude for storytelling. Working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs. Basic fluency in artificial intelligence (AI) tools and concepts. This includes using AI to enhance business operations and drive innovation, enabling us to better serve our Members and stakeholders.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
