JOB PURPOSE 

Trading and managing risk on European/Global EQD Equity FinanceDelta-1 products to our clients globally, and developing the business and product suite in line with CIBC’s risk appetite.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Delta One Trading

  • Execute and manage trades in equity derivatives (swaps, futures) with a focus on market-making, hedging, and risk management.
  • Monitor and optimize trading positions to maximize profitability while maintaining compliance with internal risk parameters.
  • Analyze market trends, liquidity, and volatility to inform trading strategies.

Stock Loan

  • Oversee daily stock loan operations, including the borrowing and lending of securities.
  • Manage inventory and collateral, ensuring efficient utilization and risk mitigation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with counterparties, custodians, and internal stakeholders.

Fixed Income Repo

  • Execute repo transactions in government bonds.
  • Monitor funding and collateral requirements to ensure optimal balance sheet management.
  • Assess market conditions and funding rates to identify trading opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in trading Delta One products or Stock Loan and Fixed Income Repo.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading systems, and risk management principles.
  • Proficiency with trading platforms, analytical tools, and Excel/VBA; experience with Python or other programming languages.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Deep product knowledge across Delta One and experience of Stock Loan and Fixed Income Repo
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
