As Director of Delivery, you will sit at the intersection of technology, product and business strategy, shaping how our teams plan, build and deliver. In a high velocity fintech environment, you will evolve and scale our delivery capability, embedding lean agile practices that improve predictability, speed and quality across our product and technology ecosystem.
This role is critical to operationalising Zip’s growth agenda. You will bring structure to complex delivery environments, enable teams to perform at their best and build a delivery organisation that supports innovation while maintaining strong operational discipline.
What you’ll own
- Define and evolve delivery frameworks that enable high performing product and engineering teams to deliver consistently and efficiently.
- Embed advanced lean agile practices including Kanban, Scrum at scale and metrics driven delivery approaches that improve flow and team effectiveness.
- Drive delivery excellence through clear performance metrics such as cycle time, throughput and quality indicators to improve visibility and accountability.
- Establish lean portfolio planning, prioritisation frameworks and dependency management practices that shorten planning cycles and enable faster responses to change.
- Ensure alignment between strategic priorities and delivery execution across Product, Engineering, Risk, Customer and Revenue teams.
- Champion continuous delivery and modern engineering practices by partnering with technology leadership to strengthen automation, CI/CD maturity and release frequency.
- Identify systemic delivery bottlenecks and enable teams to remove constraints that slow innovation.
- Translate delivery insights, risks and trade offs into clear narratives for senior and executive stakeholders.
- Build and lead a high performing delivery organisation including defining delivery roles, capability frameworks and career pathways.
- Coach and mentor delivery leaders and teams to create a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Extensive experience in technology delivery leadership, ideally within fintech, financial services or other regulated digital environments.
- Proven experience scaling delivery functions and maturing agile practices across multiple squads, teams or value streams.
- Deep understanding of lean agile principles and scaled frameworks applied pragmatically within fast moving organisations.
- Strong expertise in delivery metrics, flow optimisation, continuous delivery and modern release practices.
- Demonstrated ability to improve delivery performance using data driven insights rather than command and control approaches.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into clear business outcomes.
- Experience influencing senior leaders and driving cross functional change across product and technology organisations.
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
