Job Title

Director, Data Analytics

Position Overview

Fiserv's Partner Solutions segment is at the forefront of the merchant acquiring industry, empowering Agents (1099), Retail ISOs (RISO), Wholesale ISOs (WISO), Full Service Processors (FSPs), and Payment Facilitators (PFACs) to grow their businesses on our platform. We are seeking a strategic, data-driven leader to join our team as Director, Data Science & Analytics.

In this role, you will harness merchant boarding, performance, and market data to deliver actionable insights, sophisticated reporting, and customized business cases that drive partner recruitment, retention, and revenue growth. You will partner closely with Sales, Client Account Management, Implementation, and Marketing teams to uncover opportunities, motivate partners to increase volume, and inform targeted offers. This position combines hands-on analytics with leadership, evolving from supporting day-to-day reporting to owning strategic data initiatives that enhance our competitive edge in payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Merchant & Partner Insights — Extract and analyze merchant boarding information (e.g., merchant types/industries boarded, point-of-sale solutions in use, value-added services adoption, transaction trends, approval rates) to identify patterns, performance drivers, and growth opportunities across partner channels (Agents, RISOs, WISOs, FSPs, PFACs).
  • Reporting & Business Intelligence — Design, build, and maintain scalable dashboards, automated reports, and executive-level scorecards used by VP/Sales leadership to monitor business health, track KPIs, benchmark performance, and motivate partners through transparent, data-backed visibility.
  • Client Motivation & Growth — Develop insights and business case analyses to prepare unique, tailored offers/proposals for partners (e.g., pricing incentives, service bundles, or program enhancements) that demonstrate clear ROI and encourage increased boarding and volume on Fiserv.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence — Generate market insights by analyzing internal data alongside industry trends; coordinate with Marketing to inform campaigns, prospect targeting, and partner enablement materials.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Serve as the primary data partner for Sales Directors/Managers, Client Account Management, and Implementation; engage with stakeholders to translate business questions into analytic solutions and evangelize data-driven decision-making.
  • Ad Hoc & Strategic Projects — Tackle complex requests, such as propensity modeling for partner success, churn risk analysis, or opportunity sizing for new partner segments.

Qualifications

  • Education — Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or related field; Master's or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience — 7+ years in data analytics/science roles, with 3+ years in leadership; proven track record in payments/fintech, merchant acquiring, or sales analytics strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills — Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets; experience with Python/R, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and statistical/ML techniques; familiarity with merchant data (boarding, POS, VAS, transaction metrics) a plus.
  • Business Acumen — Strong understanding of merchant acquiring ecosystem a plus (ISOs, PFs, agents, processors); experience building business cases, ROI analyses, and sales-supporting insights.
  • Leadership — Demonstrated ability to lead small teams, coach professionals, and influence cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Soft Skills — Excellent communication (translating complex data into actionable stories for non-technical audiences); strategic thinker with a growth mindset; detail-oriented yet able to see the big picture.
