Position Summary

As the Director of Corporate Strategy & Marketing Japan at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a pivotal role in an exceptionally dynamic and ambitious environment. Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager, Japan, this role demands deep discernment to address organizational challenges and meet our Growth Plan. Your mission will be to set and strictly align the Country Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Operating Plan with our business priorities, ensuring flawless execution.

How will you make an impact

  • Strategic planning and implementation.  Assist Japan VPGM to manage and facilitate Japan Strategic Planning process. Work closely with all commercial and functional leaders to define Japan strategy and support processes to ensure effective execution and implementation.
  • Intelligence and business development.  Collect and assess market intelligence to provide reference to business decision. This is including macro economy information, industry and competitor intelligence. Manage business development projects, leverage across division capability to achieve project target.
  • eBusiness and eMarketing.   Lead the Thermo Fisher Japan eBusiness project supporting the transition from traditional marketing methods to develop and implement and fully optimized eBusiness strategy.  Work closely with other functional leads to fully leverage business and customer relationship opportunities generated by the eBusiness environment to fully leverage the strategic opportunities provided by the digital environment.
  • Public/internal/market communications.  Develop marketing communication strategy and develop commercial tools to promote overall branding strategy. Guide and manage internal communications needs.
  • Market Access/Government relations.  Design plans for government outreach by providing analysis of emerging or existing legislative public policy issues impacting the company. Coordinates actions through strategic partners in government and industry communicating corporate positions and objectives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in corporate planning/strategy, marketing, sales, or general management, including at least 5 years in a managerial leadership role. Working experience in a strategic  consulting firm or experience in science or related subject areas is helpful. Experience of E-biz is plus.
