KBR is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) in Houston, TX to lead the corporate FP&A function. Reporting to the Vice President of FP&A, you will serve as a key partner to the CFO and CEO, shaping enterprise-wide financial strategy and driving transformation across the organization. You will lead a high-performing team, including a manager and analyst, with matrix responsibility for broader business unit FP&A teams, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and championing analytics and process automation. This position follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Set the vision and direction for the FP&A function, driving enterprise-wide financial transformation and influencing executive decision-making. Lead and develop a team of managers, analysts, and business intelligence professionals (direct and matrix reporting lines).
  • Monthly Financial Performance: Oversee comprehensive analyses and review detailed reports on monthly financial performance, highlighting key variances to budget and forecast, and identifying trends to inform decision-making. Produce accurate and timely financial reports and dashboards for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead global periodic forecasting and annual budgeting processes, consolidating business forecasts, identifying significant variances, and outlining risks and opportunities. Contribute to long-term strategic planning through financial projections and scenario analyses.
  • Analytics & Automation: Champion the adoption of predictive and driver-based forecasting, leveraging advanced analytics, automation (RPA, AI tools), and modern BI platforms (Power BI) to deliver actionable insights. Lead finance transformation initiatives to modernize reporting, streamline processes, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Business Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor and business partner to senior executives and department heads, providing financial guidance and supporting key business initiatives. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive business performance and growth.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate financial results and strategic insights to key stakeholders, including the CFO, CEO, and senior management, through presentations and education of non-financial stakeholders.
  • Investor Relations: Provide support to investor relations for quarterly earnings calls and ad-hoc investor webcasts and events.
  • M&A Activities: Develop financial models and scenario analyses to assess business transactions and strategic initiatives.
  • FP&A Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as the liaison with business unit FP&A teams, driving engagement, standardization, and alignment across the global FP&A organization. Foster an inclusive team culture and support diversity in hiring, development, and advancement.

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA, CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, including at least 3-5 years in a management role
  • Experience in a corporate finance role within a large, public organization is highly desirable 

Financial Expertise & Leadership:

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, with demonstrated ability to deliver actionable insights
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of synthesizing complex data into strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience building and developing high-performing teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and advanced FP&A tools such as Oracle EPM Cloud (FCCS and Planning), Costpoint, MS Dynamics, and modern BI platforms (Power BI)
  • Strong business acumen and results-oriented mindset, focused on driving organizational impact
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation.
