Position Summary

We are seeking a digital-first editorial leader to build and scale a high-impact, audience-driven content ecosystem that drives measurable growth, engagement, and influence across key stakeholders. Operating with a publisher mindset, this role owns what we say, where we show up, and how we earn attention in a competitive media landscape—leading strategy and execution across owned and social channels. You will translate complex healthcare topics into compelling, platform-native storytelling, oversee high-volume multimedia content operations, and use data to continuously refine performance. This is not traditional corporate communications; it’s a modern content leadership role focused on building a scalable engine that connects clinical expertise, innovation, and human stories to drive relevance, credibility, and sustained audience growth.

What success looks like

  • Build and scale measurable audience growth across owned and social channels
  • Increase engagement, reach, and share of voice across priority platforms
  • Establish DaVita as a credible, go-to voice in kidney care and healthcare innovation
  • Create repeatable content systems that drive consistent output and performance
  • Translate complex clinical topics into high-performing, audience-relevant content

Key Responsibilities

Own & Scale Digital Content Strategy

  • Own and scale a digital-first, social-led content strategy that positions social platforms as primary channels for audience growth—not just distribution
  • Ensure all content is platform-native, visually compelling, and optimized for discovery, engagement, and sharing
  • Stay ahead of emerging formats, creator-driven storytelling, and shifts in audience behavior
  • Drive experimentation while maintaining strong editorial judgment and integrity

Lead Cross-Functional Content Execution

  • Oversee and align cross-functional teams producing high-volume, multimedia content (written, video, visual, executive storytelling)
  • Bring structure and clarity to content planning, workflows, and execution at scale
  • Partner across Marketing, Brand, Clinical, Policy, and Executive teams to align priorities without compromising editorial quality

Drive Thought Leadership & Media Integration

  • Identify and elevate thought leadership aligned to DaVita’s Clinical Excellence and Innovation priorities
  • Partner with subject matter experts to translate expertise into compelling, scalable narratives
  • Collaborate with communications and media relations teams to ensure content supports and amplifies earned media opportunities
  • Apply a strong understanding of today’s media landscape to inform storytelling angles and positioning

Operate with a Data-Driven Mindset

  • Use performance data and audience insights to continuously refine content strategy and execution
  • Monitor engagement, reach, and growth metrics to inform decision-making
  • Build a test-and-learn culture focused on continuous improvement and measurable impact

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8–10+ years of experience in editorial leadership, content strategy, brand journalism, or audience development
  • Proven experience building and scaling content audiences—not just producing content
  • Strong command of content performance metrics (engagement, reach, growth, and audience behavior)
  • Experience operating in high-volume, fast-paced content environments
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work cross-functionally at an executive level
  • Deep fluency across digital content ecosystems and social platforms
  • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling instincts
  • Healthcare, science, or regulated industry experience preferred
  • Media relations experience a plus
