About This Opportunity

Corporate Sector Coverage sits within Corporate & Institutional Banking and manages relationships with businesses whose annual turnover exceeds £100m.

The Consumer team (Retail, Consumer Goods, Food & Drink) works with some of the UK's most recognised brands. We support clients across the full suite of balance sheet, risk‑management, trade and cash‑management solutions, as well as Investment Grade, Leveraged Finance and Infrastructure & Project Finance transactions. We’re also helping shape Lloyds’ growing Retail Data Insights proposition, using aggregated consumer data to inform clients’ strategic decisions.

We're looking for an individual with strong Relationship Management experience to drive the business forward in this key growth role for the bank. You'll be a motivated self-starter with a strong track record to developing and implementing a strategic plan and objectives, whilst showing strong leadership skills motivate and inspire those around you.

You'll manage a portfolio of Consumer clients - primarily in the Food & Drink sector - and drive strategic growth. You’ll build deep relationships, originate new opportunities, and bring the full breadth of the Group’s capabilities to our clients.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of clients, understanding sector trends and client needs across the Food, Drink and Restaurant industries.

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for your portfolio to meet growth, profitability and risk objectives.

  • Act as primary relationship lead, coordinating across product partners to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Originate opportunities and identify income‑generating initiatives that contribute to Group growth.

  • Lead credit discussions, negotiate facility terms and collaborate with Credit and Risk teams to structure proposals.

  • Prepare and present responses to tenders and pitches, working with specialist teams to enhance win rates.

  • Ensure compliance with Bank and regulatory policies, including oversight of legal documentation and credit sanctions.

  • Drive continuous improvement by adapting to policy, system and process changes.

  • Provide leadership within the team - motivating, developing and supporting colleagues.

What You'll Need

  • Strong Relationship Management experience with large corporate clients in Corporate & Institutional Banking or an equivalent environment.

  • Experience managing complex financing transactions (Investment Grade, Leveraged Finance, Infrastructure & Project Finance).

  • Solid grounding in credit and risk management.

  • Commercial insight and understanding of Consumer sector dynamics, with the ability to build sub‑sector expertise and be a face to market.

  • Strong origination skills aligned to Northstar growth ambitions.

  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships at senior levels.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strategic approach with experience developing business plans.

  • Leadership capability to inspire a collaborative team.

Desirable

  • Experience working with data‑driven insights (e.g., Retail Data proposition).

  • Exposure to international clients or cross‑border transactions.
