Director, Community & Fan Engagement

A little bit about our team:

Your role:

The Director, Community & Fan Engagement will support deepening the fan relationship between an artist and their audience. You will be responsible for collaborating with brand strategists and US and UK repertoire artists to bring their community strategy to life, globally. The role will lead on engaging and nurturing artist communities across online platforms, while also fostering strong relationships with our artists, their fans, and thematic discovery domestically and internationally.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Own Campaigns: Support the day-to-day execution of fan engagement initiatives, optimising them for streaming, D2C growth, and fan retention.

  • Build Communities: Develop and expand community-driven marketing initiatives, including fan clubs, digital groups, and social-first activations on platforms like Discord, Reddit, Meta (Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp/Threads), Snapchat, TikTok, Community and more.

  • Drive Strategy: Work with artists and their teams to create and execute community-based strategies that turn discovery into lasting passion as well develop concepts to growth hack relevantly for opportunity audiences

  • Develop integrated campaigns across owned, earned, partner, and paid so all tactics elevate each other

  • Manage Relationships: Build strong partnerships with platform partners, top-tier digital creators, influencers, and community leaders.

  • Storytelling: adept and clever copywriting for fan service and audience discovery on behalf of artist and brands

  • Analyse and Report: Develop and track KPIs to measure campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies to maximise engagement and revenue.
    Stay Ahead of Trends: Stay on top of emerging technologies, behaviors, narratives, and trends in the social sphere and zeitgeist, creator space, identifying new opportunities to connect artists with their fans.

  • Leverage first party and audience data into the holistic community building campaign

  • Collaborate: Partner with other label teams to ensure community initiatives are integrated into wider marketing campaigns and in line with artist brand strategies.

About you:

  • Progressive experience in digital marketing, influencer strategy, community management, or audience development, preferably within the music, media industry, creative agency, or a social platform

  • Proven success in executing organic/editorial social media programming, creator marketing and fan engagement strategies.  Deep knowledge of the social ecosystem and major platforms, including TikTok, Snap, Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads), YouTube, Reddit, and Discord.

  • Experience with fan engagement strategies, including community building, management, and content creation for specific platforms (e.g., Duets and Stitches on TikTok, Stories and Reels on Meta, community channels on Discord).

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with established trust already in place amongst key stakeholders of major community platforms in top markets 

  • Impeccable copywriting skills that deliver witty, socially native in syntax, conversation and comments in varying tonality and editorial lenses 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure campaign performance and make data-driven decisions.

  • Experience in social listening, enterprise solutions and manual, community management publishing best practices

  • A strategic and creative mindset with a passion for music and fan culture.
