Job Description Summary

The Director Commercial Contract Operations is responsible for effectively managing all activities supporting the contracting process pre and post execution for all commercial contracts including those with strategic and key customers, distributors, and group purchasing organizations for the Contrast Media franchise Responsibilities also include but are not limited to the following: (i) ensure the timely response to RFPs, RFIs (ii) ensure the timely and accurate payment of administrative fees and rebates (iii) complete compliance checks (iv) ensure SOX controls are met.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, develop, hire, and train staff responsible for all activities supporting the contracting process
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Sales organization to prioritize high-value contracts and provide visibility into the contract pipeline, enabling strategic decision-making
  • Ensure contracts are drafted timely; routed for approvals based upon established policies; and are reviewed for accuracy prior to presenting to the customer
  • Ensure all executed agreements are implemented in the system timely and adhere to SOX controls
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers, Legal, and Sales to negotiate terms and conditions of customer agreements
  • Participate in discussions pre-contract with internal stakeholders to ensure contract terms can be operationalized
  • Ensure commitment checks are completed timely and the appropriate action is taken for customers participating in Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and/or Custom Independent Agreements
  • Ensure monthly / quarterly SOX controls are met and completed timely
  • Ensure all requests from internal and external auditors are responded to timely and accurately
  • Ensure annual review of all contract templates; ensure all verbiage changes are approved by Legal
  • Ensure annual review of 5.0 / 6.0 Flag List is completed and documented for audit purposes
  • Execute price increases for all modalities; oversee project plan and ensure all customers receive appropriate notification
  • Manage the relationship with the outsourced vendor for chargeback and rebate/admin fee processing along with any other responsibilities they may be responsible for
  • Monitor the status of all rebate and admin fee payments to ensure payments adhere to contract terms; approve payment requests according to assigned dollar threshold
  • Maintain monthly dashboards for commercial contracting KPIs; provide commentary on trends and implement necessary process changes
  • Monitor shared mailboxes to ensure all inquiries are responded to timely and meet / exceed business requirements
  • Manage the vendor set up process and the resolution of outstanding checks to ensure payments are processed timely
  • Define and document system enhancement requirements, and proactively raise and prioritize bug requests to support continuous improvement and system reliability Participate in annual budget preparation
  • Ensure all activities related to GPO membership are processed timely and accurately
  • Support new Contrast Media product launches
  • Assist with pilot programs and other projects as assigned

  • Participate in the development, implementation & continuous improvement of departmental policies, procedures, workflows, and tools as they relate to contracting and operations

  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 + years supervisory experience in the HealthCare, Pharmaceutical, and/or Life Sciences Industry
  • Knowledge of contracts administration procedures and practices
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with staff at all levels within the organization to achieve business goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, language proficiency in English
  • Knowledge of regulatory and SOX controls; experience working directly with internal and external auditors
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders
  • Proven creative, analytical, and critical thinking skills; able to solve problems and make effective and timely decisions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong coordination and project management skills
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Proficient with learning and utilizing technology
  • Desired Characteristics
  • Master’s Degree or Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles or Lean certification
  • Knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations, Wholesalers, and Distributors
  • Strong financial acumen with an understanding of contractual accounting methodologies
  • Experience using, developing, and/or implementing a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system
  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience using Salesforce.com
  • Project Management Certification
  • Understanding of channel strategy and go-to-market options

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $137,280.00-$205,920.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
