Position Summary:
Through close collaboration with global Precision Medicine (PM), global TRC and TD, China biomarker team and integrated R&D teams, this Precision Medicine lead role provides subject matter expertise related to the development and execution of biomarker testing and diagnostic strategy for specific assets under development in China and provides leadership and oversight in strategic planning of general biomarker testing in China.
Duties/Responsibilities
Be responsible for ensuring optimal development of China biomarker testing strategy aligned with global strategy. Identify scientific gaps or a specific tailored biomarker strategy relevant for China for a certain asset
Oversee the general execution of China biomarker testing in clinical studies and provide guidance and leadership in troubleshooting when applicable
Be responsible for overseeing the PDx development strategy/execution in China
Be responsible for driving local biomarker research projects in China
Collaborate effectively with an integrated organizational framework across translational medicine, biomarker and R&D (in China and globally).
Coordinate the China biomarker/precision medicine sub-teams for specific diagnostic products or indications to enhance the value of the assets through incorporation of diagnostic biomarkers into exploratory, clinical, regulatory, and Medical/Commercial strategies
Form alliances across scientific disciplines and participate in the decision-making process that typically require developing new options to solve highly complex problems for the completion of team goals
Provide internal and external subject matter expertise for BMS Precision Medicine activities in China
Expand and strengthen external networks through collaboration with external partner/vendor, interaction with local HA, interaction with industry association and academic institutes in China
Acquire and disseminates precision medicine knowledge for organizational learning and capability in China
Qualifications
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Qualification Requirements:
Advanced technical degree, e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD.
Relevant working experience in multinational and/or domestic pharm industry experience of 9+ years. Experience in implementing program-based strategies for pharmacodynamics, disease surrogate and patient stratification biomarkers is required.
3+ years’ experience in diagnostic assay and/or biomarker assay development.
Specific experience in the diagnostic industry, biomarkers (e.g., oncology and neuroscience), or certification in laboratory medicine is a plus.
Experience with or good working knowledge of biomarker/in vitro diagnostic platforms.
Good knowledge of or experience with assay transferring and capability of monitoring clinical biomarker study in CROs.
Requires comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts and/or methodologies and regulation within drug discovery, development or production in China and globally.
Good language and communication skill in English and Mandarin (in both verbal and written), good computer and presentation skills are required.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary matrix team.
Proven ability of cross-functional team collaboration, KOL networking, global colleague engagement and resource management are strongly preferred.
