Overview
The Payment Networks organization is a business enabler and industry leader of technology and payments innovation, supported by a multi-disciplinary team of top product, operations, and technology professionals. We engineer enterprise solutions for enabling all Products, Services, and Corporate Functions across all markets to serve our customers. Payment Networks is a global organization comprised of twelve programs that provide solutions for Network Access, Transaction Switching Services, and Value Added Services. Role The Director, Chief of Staff will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, overseeing financial operations, headcount management, and annual budget planning while ensuring alignment across Product, Finance, and Business Operations. This role drives organizational effectiveness by leading executive rhythms, maintaining data quality, coordinating enterprise-wide processes, and managing major meetings and leadership events. The Director also owns global employee engagement, communications, early-talent programs, and philanthropy efforts across multiple tech hubs. In addition, this role supports key strategic initiatives—including inquiry reduction, AI roadmap activities, and vendor optimization—to advance operational excellence and organizational priorities.
Responsibilities include:
Lead financial operations for the organization, including SW CAP management, service credit tracking, budget planning, and alignment of headcount requests with approved business cases.
Oversee organizational rhythms, including planning, coordinating, and facilitating People Leader meetings, All Hands, ELT sessions, and annual leadership offsites.
Ensure data accuracy in Workday, monitoring cost centers, program alignment, contractor terms, location data, and guild assignments, and partnering with managers to resolve discrepancies.
Drive consistency in enterprise-wide processes, including objective-setting, mid-year and end-of-year scoring, and other org-wide initiatives.
Direct employee engagement strategy across global Tech Hubs, overseeing events, philanthropy efforts, monthly touchpoints, and the development of communications such as newsletters and holiday posts.
Manage intern and early-talent programs, serving as point of contact for interns and Launchers, coordinating onboarding, planning the summer group project, and organizing leadership interactions and end-of-summer events.
Coordinate major employee events, including annual STL, Dublin, and Pune gatherings, quarterly happy hours, and monthly engagement events in each hub.
Support key organizational initiatives and oversee workplace experience activities.
Partner with cross-functional leaders (Finance, Product, Biz Ops, Program Owners, Workplace, etc.) to ensure operational execution, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement across the organization.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Pay Ranges
O'Fallon, Missouri: $143,000 - $236,000 USD
