Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading change management strategy and execution for enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. Reporting to the AVP, Change Management Office, this position ensures stakeholder alignment, workforce readiness, and sustainable adoption of new systems, processes and other ways of working. This position also plays a pivotal role in developing and advancing Memorial Hermann's change capability as a center of excellence.

The Director provides strategic leadership to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on, collaborative execution to drive consistent, effective change practices that align with Memorial Hermann’s mission, culture, and operational priorities.

Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Business, Human Resources, Communications, or related field required.

Master’s degree preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Change Management certification required; Prosci certification preferred.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Ten (10) years of progressive experience in organizational change management, business transformation, or related fields within complex, matrixed organizations, preferably in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.

  •  Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience managing professional staff and/or cross-functional initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives.

  • Strong expertise in stakeholder engagement, sponsorship alignment, communications strategy, training design, and adoption measurement.

  • Proven ability to integrate change management into project management and performance improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent leadership, influence, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong business acumen, systems thinking, and strategic problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong facilitation and executive consulting skills.

  • Advanced proficiency with change management tools, dashboards, and reporting systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides overall leadership and direction for the Change Management Office team members, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of change management strategies and plans to drive successful transformation outcomes.

  • Serves as a senior change management liaison between the Change Management Office and other change-delivery groups, such as the Value Management Office, ensuring alignment across governance bodies and workstreams.

  • Partners with program leadership, executive sponsors and cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate people-related risks to adoption and to ensure alignment of change activities with program milestones.

  • Directs the design and implementation of readiness assessments, impact analyses, stakeholder mapping, communications, and training initiatives to support end-user adoption.

  • Integrates change management methodology, tools, and deliverables into project governance, including reporting and dashboards in coordination with the Value Management Office and other groups.

  • Develops and maintains adoption metrics, readiness indicators, and post-implementation sustainment measures to evaluate effectiveness of change activities.

  • Provides consultation on leadership alignment, change readiness, and workforce engagement strategies.

  • Ensures consistency of frameworks, templates, and practices across all change management work and promotes integration with enterprise transformation and maturity initiatives.

  • Hires, develops, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff.

  • Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, resource management, productivity and quality of service.
