The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Director, Capability Demonstration and Customer Engagement, at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Capability Demonstration and Customer Engagement will lead the strategy, design, and execution of live, virtual, and hybrid capability demonstrations and customer engagement experiences that showcase the company’s technical solutions to Leidos government and defense customers. This senior leader will orchestrate a multidisciplinary team of engineers, solution architects, and storytellers to deliver experiences that translate complex technologies into meaningful mission outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical acumen, sales enablement experience, and leadership excellence to help shape how Leidos presents its digital capabilities to current and future customers.
The ideal candidate will combine deep understanding of the government acquisition environment with strong storytelling, program management, and technical demonstration skills.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
No initial clearance is required to start; however you must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and deliver tailored technical demonstrations highlighting Leidos’ Digital Modernization portfolio — including cloud, AI/ML, cyber, automation, DevSecOps, and data analytics.
- Guide the creation of mission-focused narratives that clearly articulate customer value and outcomes.
- Oversee demonstration logistics, technology refresh, and demo readiness, ensuring a world-class customer experience.
- Partner with account management, business development, capture, and program teams to identify high-priority capabilities and opportunities for tailored demonstrations.
Demonstration Development & Execution
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of multi-domain capability demonstrations—live, virtual, and hybrid—that highlight mission-relevant solutions.
- Lead cross-functional teams (technical, operations, and BD) to produce compelling, mission-aligned demonstration narratives.
- Manage the Leidos demonstration facility and virtual environments to ensure readiness, compelling storytelling, and technical excellence.
Customer Engagement & Experience
- Serve as a senior point of contact for customer engagements, visits, and capability showcases/trade shows.
- Develop and execute customer engagement programs—including executive briefings, technology showcases, and innovation days—to deepen relationships and understanding of customer missions.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback from demonstrations to inform product development and capture strategies.
Internal Promotion & Engagement
- Promote and communicate digital modernization repeatable solutions and innovations across key Leidos stakeholders (executive leaders, Growth teams, etc.)
- Incorporate the use of digital modernization demonstration capabilities in existing Capture and BD processes to maximize usage
Metrics & Reporting
- Establish KPIs to measure demonstration effectiveness and impact on pipeline growth, customer satisfaction, and win rates.
- Regularly report performance insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Continuous improvement of KPIs that ensure digital modernization demonstrations are leading to increased sales and win rates for Leidos.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, IT or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in technical solution leadership, pre-sales engineering, customer experience management, or technical demonstration roles
- Proven success in leading technical storytelling and demonstration initiatives for complex digital or IT modernization solutions.
- Deep understanding of Digital Modernization domains (cloud, AI/ML, cybersecurity, automation, data analytics, and DevSecOps).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage senior-level stakeholder engagements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with senior-level stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting Federal Government or large enterprise clients.
- Familiarity with business development and capture management processes.
- Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PMP, or similar technical credentials.
- Proven success in building or transforming a technology demonstration or innovation center.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
