Supports the Enterprise Treasurer in executing strategic priorities for Corporate Treasury (Treasury). Gathers and integrates information to support the Treasurer and promote effective and efficient operation of Treasury, working with stakeholders across Treasury, other First Line areas, Second Line, Audit, and external organizations. Supports the effective management of risk. Provides organization around and support for significant meetings and events. Supports the development of effective, consistent communications for the Treasurer and the Treasury leadership team.

  • Works with the Treasurer on team strategy and planning, supporting development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates responses across the Treasury leadership team on internal and external matters covering liquidity, funding, capital, interest rate risk, resolution planning, and data.
  • Centrally coordinates Board and Board committee materials. Maintains the overall calendar and ensures enough time for Treasurer review before submission. Develops relationships with the Board governance teams.
  • Centrally coordinates earnings prep materials and review before submission.
  • Coordinates agendas for and works with stakeholders on Treasury leadership team meetings, all hands meetings, and onsites/offsites.
  • Responsible for the governance of certain executive committees, including securing the full-year agenda, obtaining materials from presenters, and structuring reviews.
  • Tracks headcount by Treasury team that includes open positions, desired new hires, and indicates where open requisitions are aging. Enables organized requests for headcount and works with Treasurer to balance organizational effectiveness.
  • Consolidates the process for producing materials for annual meetings with Rating Agencies and organizes review sessions within Treasury.
  • Produces weekly status updates on regulatory, second line, audit, and self-identified issues.
  • Develops an expert understanding of business/group challenges.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions and implementing strategic initiatives, including developing roadmaps for execution.
  • Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Influences how teams/groups work together.

Qualifications

  • Typically 9+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seasoned expert with extensive industry and/or BMO knowledge.
  • Recognized technical leader and thought leader for innovation.
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert influence skills.
  • Expert collaboration and cross-group teamwork skills.

Salary:

$137,000.00 - $238,000.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
