Key Position Details:

  • Full Time 1.0 FTE (40 hrs/wk)
  • Expected schedule: 8 am - 5 pm
  • Team of approximately ~20+
  • 4 direct reports
  • This role will largely be remote. Report to Allina Commons as needed (approx. 1-2 times/month)

Job Description:

Responsible for informing and executing system-wide data and analytics strategy and delivery. This role builds and scales a modern data & analytics function that turns clinical, operational, and financial data into actionable insights supporting quality, cost, access, and patient experience. The Director will co-own the analytics roadmap, mature self‑service Business Intelligence tools, and align enterprise data strategy to business priorities, promoting a system-wide data-driven culture. Lead, define and deploy advanced data analytics best practices.

A key component is to build and lead the Business Intelligence and Analytics Insights teams across health care domains ensuring we define and deploy advanced data and analytics best practices optimizing how we work and drive business value. The day-to-day responsibilities will include seeking to understand core business objectives of customers and to guide teams to find data and analytic solutions within our capabilities.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee high level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools, applications and analytics services across domains

  • Build a high-performing team of multi-level employees ranging from BI analysts to managers.

  • Partner with Analytics leadership to execute transition of work from external vendors to internal staff while preserving knowledge, continuity and cost savings.

  • Deliver high‑value dashboards and decision‑support assets with clear problem statements, user stories, and adoption metrics.

  • Scale self-service analytics via governed semantic layers and tools (e.g. PowerBI, Qlik, Application reporting for EMR and ERP systems) aligning with broader implementation and adoption of modern data platform components.

  • Partner with clinical leadership, operations, finance, and digital/IT to prioritize initiatives and communicate value; drive adoption through education, governance, and change management.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Statistics or Analysis, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting or other business intelligence. Advance knowledge of business tools for creation and display of data, and healthcare database

  • 5+ years managing employees at multiple levels from individual contributors to people managers


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree


Licenses/Certifications

  • Epic Clarity, Reporting Workbench and/or My Epic (RADAR) highly preferred

Pay Range

Pay Range: $69.90 to $96.71 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
