What You Will Do
The Director, Artificial Intelligence Accelerator (AIA) will report directly to the Sr Dir, Intelligent & Cyber-Physical Systems Department, RTRC and provide leadership to the RTX AIA. This role is responsible for leading the strategic, financial, and people initiatives for the AIA and driving accelerated deployment and scaling of impactful AI capabilities in the engineering design pipeline and products across RTX.
Job Overview
Provide strategic and operational leadership to RTX’s Artificial Intelligence Accelerator (AIA)
Own, develop, and execute short- and long-term strategy regarding the implementation of AI capabilities in the engineering development pipeline and in RTX products
Build a team of AI SME’s capable of scaling AI applications from technology development pilots and external vendors to broad RTX adoption
Collaborate with and provide strategic input to the cross-RTX AI community, including BU partners and central AI leadership in RTX Technology & Global Engineering
Facilitate new funding streams to accelerate AI deployment through high quality proposal delivery to internal RTX BU partners
Initiate and maintain partnership and customer engagements both internally and externally, including RTX business units, RTX RTRC, RTX BBN, university partners, and government agencies
Ensure strong organizational culture around compliance and environmental health and safety
Support RTX Business Units in addressing critical technology challenges
Qualifications You Must Have
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
An advanced Degree in a relevant technical domain (specifically, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or software development) is requirement for this role.
This candidate should possess technical and management expertise and the ability to work well in complex, dynamic environments focused on innovation. This includes direct experience leading teams and influencing strategy across a large, multi-layered organization.
They must be able to partner with external vendors and leading worldwide institutions to fulfill organizational objectives.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
