What You'll Do

BridgeBio is seeking a Director, Access & Reimbursement – Rare Disease to provide leadership and strategic oversight for field-based access and reimbursement activities across a rare disease portfolio. This role is designed as a leadership-focused position with player-coach responsibilities, supporting team development and selective hands-on involvement in complex access situations.

The Director, Access & Reimbursement will lead a team of Access & Reimbursement professionals (ARDs) responsible for executing provider-facing reimbursement education, identifying access barriers, and supporting compliant patient access solutions. The role requires strong people leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and deep expertise in U.S. reimbursement pathways.

This position reports into Market Access / Patient Services leadership and works closely with Commercial, Medical, Compliance, Legal, Trade, and Patient Services teams.

Responsibilities

Access & Reimbursement Leadership

  • Lead and execute access and reimbursement strategy aligned with BridgeBio objective
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for provider-facing reimbursement and access support
  • Identify access challenges across payer environments and drive compliant solutions
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert on payer coverage, prior authorization, appeals, and reimbursement pathways

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Access & Reimbursement professionals (ARDs
  • Establish performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development
  • Ensure consistent execution of access processes, tools, and compliance standards
  • Foster a collaborative, patient-focused, and accountable team culture

Player-Coach Responsibilities

  • Maintain selective involvement in high-priority, complex, or escalated access and reimbursement cases
  • Provide hands-on expertise in challenging situations where senior leadership support is required
  • Model best-in-class, compliant field execution for the team

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Insights

  • Partner with Commercial, Medical, Patient Services, Compliance, Legal, Trade, and Market Access teams
  • Share de-identified field insights related to payer trends, access barriers, and process gaps
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of access strategies, tools, and field materials

Compliance & Ethical Standards

  • Ensure all access and reimbursement activities adhere to company policies and applicable laws, including HIPAA and OIG guidance
  • Maintain appropriate handling of patient information and ensure compliant, non-promotional engagement
  • Serve as a role model for ethical behavior and compliance standards

Where You'll Work

This is a U.S.-based field role requiring approximately 60% domestic travel based on business needs.

Who You Are

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8–10+ years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry with a focus on reimbursement, market access, or patient services
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, or developing field-based access or reimbursement teams
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payer environments, including commercial and government plans
  • Experience working with specialty pharmacies and patient services hubs

Preferred

  • MBA or RN preferred
  • Rare disease experience
  • Product launch experience
  • You have demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in adopting AI-powered tools and technologies

Below is the anticipated salary range for candidates for this role who will work in California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process. BridgeBio is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions based in other states.
