About the Accounting Team

The Accounting team partners across the business to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of our financial reporting. We play a critical role in capturing and recording company activity in real time, while maintaining strong controls and high standards, and providing financial insights to inform strategic decisions. Beyond compliance, we enable innovation by building scalable processes that support growth and evolving business models.

About the Role

As Director, Accounting, you will lead a team of 10 across the United States and the Philippines, overseeing General Accounting, Revenue Accounting, and Accounts Payable. You will partner closely with Finance, Procurement, Payroll, Legal, Tax, Product, and Engineering to ensure accurate reporting and scalable financial operations across the business.

You and your team will build deep expertise in our products and revenue models, serving as the company’s accounting authority and guiding teams through complex and evolving transactions. You will play a key role in strengthening our processes and controls as we prepare for public-company readiness, helping scale the accounting function to support continued growth. What you'll do 

  • Set and lead the multi-year strategy for Accounting, building a scalable operating model that supports company growth and public-company readiness.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, developing managers, evolving org design, and strengthening leadership bench strength. Set performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Own the accuracy and timeliness of close processes, and other recurring and non-recurring accounting and A/P processes, continuously improving quality and performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiency through streamlining processes or automating via accounting systems and workflows, particularly through use of AI.
  • Drive public-company readiness, strengthening internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit preparedness.
  • Partner on strategic initiatives, ensuring new products, revenue models, and partnerships are structured and operationalized in a scalable, compliant way.

In order to be successful, you must bring

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience, preferably including public accounting firm and publicly traded-company experience.
  • Experience leading teams, and preferably distributed and international teams, with a track record of building scalable, high-performing organizations.
  • Strong operational accounting experience, and driving process improvements including systems selection and implementation, and preferably a passion for AI and experience with Netsuite.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, and SOX requirements.
  • US GAAP technical accounting fluency, and preferably a CPA.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), and passion for cross functional influencing.
  • A balance of operational rigor and strategic thinking, with the ability to scale processes for long-term success.

Expected salary ranges

  • For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $221,000.00 - $286,000.00.
  • For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $198,900.00 - $257,400.00.
  • For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $187,900.00 - $243,100.00.

Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role
