Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement DMP program framework across HMH, including defining the DMP execution model, developing DMP tools and templates, and operating procedures.
  • Define the DMP strategy, goals, and KPIs, and implement regular operating reviews to report progress and ensure program goals are being met. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution of DMP projects with Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, DLS, Quality, Product Line, and Finance. 
  • Organize and lead DMP events to generate ideas and drive execution, including ideation sessions, supplier workshops, value engineering reviews and more.
  • Identify, evaluate and prioritize projects based on expected benefit, complexity, cost, schedule and other criteria to deliver high impact projects quickly.
  • Drive DMP projects from initial concept to realization, including managing resources, schedule, and cost.
  • Build a network of DMP agents across the HMH business to drive DMP initiatives within their own function and support projects led by the DMP leader. 
  • Ensure benefits are tracked and reported, and monitor realization of benefits against expected benefits.
  • Communicate updates on the DMP program with HMH leadership and employees.
  • Travel up to 20%, local or international, depending on project needs and locations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the role, to meet evolving business needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of relevant experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional level experience
  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a closely related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience engineering, supply chain, or operations.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas, anticipate potential objections and persuade others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives with a diverse group of stakeholders. 
  • Direct experience and familiarity with one or more HMH product lines
  • Change management mindset with the willingness to challenge status-quo and ability foster support to drive adoption across diverse teams
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in Excel
  • Strong understanding of direct material cost drivers, BOM optimization, design-to-value, value engineering, and lifecycle cost management
  • Excellent facilitation and collaboration skills; ability to influence without authority
  • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills for executive audiences
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and basic SQL
  • Experience using AI or machine learning solutions to enhance analytics and decision-making processes
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or equivalent process improvement certification
  • Knowledge of supplier diversity, risk management, and sustainable procurement practices
